Tony Ortega (via Alex Barnes-Ross) commented on an article on STAAD/STAND website celebrating the birthday of Miscavige yesterday. In it, the unnamed sycophant writing the piece (probably someone in OSA or RTC) made the following statement: When the Founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard, was ready to pass the torch to a successor, he needed someone who would (1) be up to the task of leading the fastest-growing religion in the world and (2) have the strength, courage and perspicacity to follow through on ensuring the religious technology is available for future generations. It’s March 13th – Where’s Ron?
One of the two major holidays in scientology commemorates the birth of L. Ron Hubbard on 13 March 1911 in Tilden Nebraska (the other is the publication date of Dianetics on May 9, 1950). Hubbard occupies a unique place in scientology. He is revered almost like a God. Scientologists consider him infallible -- his every written and spoken word to be taken as truth and applied literally. If Hubbard says there are implant stations on Mars, no scientologist doubts this "fact." When he proclaims that smoking doesn't cause cancer, not smoking enough does -- they known he speaks the truth, as … [Read more...]
David Miscavige was NOT Anointed by Hubbard
It is always amusing to read scientology's hagiographic musings about their fearless leader, Captain Miscavige. He has a website dedicated to him and the same content is repeated in the special section devoted to the COB on the Scientology website. Nobody fact checks the claims made about him, Scientology operates on the principle of putting out so much garbage and lies that nobody can keep up with all the falsehoods so they eventually become true. Here are a few glaring examples, taking the statements right from their website: Barely a year after entering the Sea Organization—the religious o … [Read more...]
L. Ron Hubbard: March 13, 1911 – January 24, 1986
Today marks 37 years since the death of L. Ron Hubbard -- founder of scientology, "Source" to his followers, compulsive storyteller and master conman. I want to take a moment today to recommend Russell Miller's wonderful, detailed, enlightening unauthorized biography Bare-Faced Messiah: The True Story of L. Ron Hubbard. Miller's book opened my eyes to so much about Hubbard as he connected dots and answered many questions. The diligent research and detail in his account is remarkable, sifting through the endless stories and lies told by Hubbard about his life and accomplishments to … [Read more...]

We have another episode of listener questions this week. I will add the link as soon as the episode is available. The topics this week include: Why is scientology popular with dentists? The first is the "LRH Departure event" where David Miscavige, Pat Broeker and lawyer Earle Cooley spin the tall tale about the final days of L. Ron Hubbard. The second is a list of recommended reading from Leah: Here is a partial list of … [Read more...]
