This is the fifth "vacation" post, revisiting some of the more important articles to have appeared on my blog over the years. The original post and comments can be found here. A couple of days ago, Tony Ortega posted a lengthy "success story" from a woman who had recently completed "Super Power." Of course, it was over-the-top bizarre, but one paragraph stood out: While on the rundown two major SPs (2.5 percent) connected to my dynamics received their bitter end. One died in an unexpected way, and the other got put in a psychiatric hospital by his best friend. This filled … [Read more...]
Why Do Scientologists Lie?
This is the third "vacation" post, revisiting some of the more important articles to have appeared on my blog over the years. The original post and comments can be found here. I originally posted a version of this in early 2017. I have updated it with additional information and quotes. It's important, especially in light of the ongoing prosecution of Danny Masterson, other investigations, and civil cases. Anyone who confronts scientology witnesses needs to understand the nature of the beast. While repeatedly asserting that they are "the most ethical group … [Read more...]
A Scientology Committee of Evidence is NOT Arbitration
This is the second "vacation" post, revisiting some of the more important articles to have appeared on my blog over the years. The original post, along with the comments, can be found here. See also, these other posts on the subject of scientology "arbitration" li9nked lower in this post. Scientology has managed to persuade courts that people who signed Enrollment Agreements as a condition of starting a scientology service, are bound by a paragraph of the agreement where they agree to resolve disputes through a scientology "religious arbitration." Here is the language … [Read more...]
Sci-Kid-ologese
This collation of scientology terminology was sent to me by Christi Gordon. It was compiled by a number of second generation "scientology kids" -- the most prominent listed on the cover above. They note that this is "A thoughtful collaboration to gather and share the many euphemisms, nuanced phrases, commands & threats used to guide the children of scientology." It is very lengthy -- a reflection of just how much jargon there is in scientology. It is a secret language for the bubble-dwellers. And it is one of the things that sets cults apart from other … [Read more...]
Cult v. Brand
Someone Someone sent this article to me recently: Is There a Difference Between a Cult and a Brand? This is the sort of positioning scientology, and Miscavige in particular, absolutely HATE. Scientology is put into the same category as Heaven's Gate, NXIVM, Rajneesh etc. and compared to Tupperware, Amway and Mary Kay... It notes that these MLMs use the same model that L. Ron Hubbard did: selling increasingly expensive courses and “technologies.” It also mentions "the ever-growing library of documentaries about Scientology." It's a growing problem for scientology. As much as … [Read more...]
Family Interventions and Deprogrammings
Here's an interesting article from Narconon, pushing the virtues of interventions. This is how they describe what an intervention is: Family intervention is a common approach used because it provides the right nudge toward treatment. Family interventions work, but it is difficult to predict how the intervention could unfold. Certified family intervention specialists have the training to prepare a family for what to expect. Most family interventions use pressure to encourage an addict to admit to their problem and seek treatment. A group of close friends and family come … [Read more...]
Apartheid Alive and Well in Scientology?
I know I have commented on this before, but it never ceases to amaze me how the Advanced Org for the CONTINENT of Africa serves exclusively the tiny minority of the citizenry who are white. The photos of the graduates below are not cherry-picked. They are what is attached to the email of the "latest AOSH Africa completions." It is the same every time they send these out. Of course, dianetics and scientology from the outset have been white-centric (probably not a word, but it seems appropriate). Just look at the earliest photos of dianeticists and scientologists gathered anywhere and … [Read more...]
More of the BS Expansion Hype
Some follow up to the earlier post about hype expansion news. Lots of amazing expansion that has never come to pass... what Captain Miscavige was saying in 2014. For those of you who aren't familiar, the Golden Age of Tech Phase II is described this way on the scientology website: So, this "47X" expansion occurred between November 2013 and June 2014. 47 times expansion in just 8 months. OMG... I did a posting about this in August 2014: Massive Expansion of Lies Then in February 2016, the claim was 60X in the last 2 years -- … [Read more...]
Easter — Scientology Style
They are at it again: Scientology pretending it is aligned with Christianity. Celebrating Easter is even more hypocritical than celebrating Christmas -- which almost transcends a religious holiday in most Western countries. But Easter, like Passover is truly a religious day, there is no federal holiday designated for these occasions in the US. This is the day to remember Christ on the cross. And a day for scientology to try to cash in on their "christian-friendly" PR line. But what does Hubbard have to say about this occasion? I have written about this before Can Scientologists be … [Read more...]
A Message from Ukraine
This is a video from a scientologist in Ukraine. Eastern Ukraine. I watched the 20 minute video and it is heartbreaking to hear what is happening in her country. I don't doubt the tragedy she recounts, her bravery and sincerity in making this video, or that she is asking for help. This situation is devastating. But, this video also highlights several things about scientology and the mindset of a good scientologist. After describing the horrors that are occurring, she hits upon a familiar theme -- there is great urgency, the future of the planet it as … [Read more...]
