Codependence in the Bubble

March 2, 2020 By Mike Rinder 65 Comments

From long time commenter Clearly Not Clear.   Codependence in the Bubble Being in a cult like scientology, is like being in a codependent relationship. I thought codependence had to do with living with an alcoholic or a drug addict. Evidently it can be more subtle. Here’s an internet definition: “Excessive emotional or psychological reliance on a partner, typically one who requires support on account of an illness or addiction.” – Google answer Let’s try that on with scientology - “Excessive emotional or psychological reliance on a cult like scientology, typically one who … [Read more...]

The IAS is doing EVERYTHING

January 25, 2020 By Mike Rinder 37 Comments

The IAS is truly the biggest scam in scientology. And that is saying something. Just look what they say here: "At new orders of magnitude, we are tackling ANY planetary ruin ANYWHERE, from the edge of the world to your neighborhood." This is such astonishing bullshit it even surprises me. They also claim that the they are the ONLY solution to war, criminality and immorality. And "WE ARE CHANGING THE WORLD"... And they are serious! And how odd is it that the person doing this pitch is Ruddy Rodriguez, IAS Freedom Medal Winner from VENEZUELA! Hey Ruddy, how … [Read more...]

The Sole Cause of Decline in This Universe

November 11, 2019 By Mike Rinder 38 Comments

Hubbard created an environment in scientology of "Us v. Them" -- a hallmark of cult indoctrination. You must have an "enemy" upon whom you can lay blame for all failure/terrible conditions and if you can then convince your followers that you are the only one who understands the dangers and can vanquish this scourge and set your followers free, then you have them hooked through fear. And if you can then also promise unlimited happiness/spiritual freedom/eternity then you have both the stick and the carrot. L. Ron Hubbard the "whole track SPs" as psychiatry. He at first sought their … [Read more...]

Where is the IAS? Part 4,764

August 18, 2019 By Mike Rinder 76 Comments

OK, where is the IAS for the 4,764th time? They always claim that the "CCHR campaigns" are "what your donations buy." Really? How come CCHR is always fundraising? And can't even put up a billboard? Not even 10% of their goal raised in 6 months. Don't you clubbed seals see what is happening? Are you really this blind? By the way, CCHR, the "Billboard Babes" managed to get a billboard UP in a matter of weeks.... … [Read more...]

Occupy Territory

July 8, 2019 By Mike Rinder 88 Comments

Scientology likes to say they are not trying to compete with psychiatry. But the reality is that despite Hubbard saying he had developed the Introspection Rundown and thus gotten rid of the last reason for psychiatry to exist, Hubbard's policy remains that no "institutional" cases or people with "psych histories" are allowed in scientology orgs. In 1972 Hubbard was intent upon using "Big League Sales" to get governments to offload psychiatry and take on scientology. No explanation though about what to do with those in institutions or needing treatment for severe mental … [Read more...]

Scientology in Germany

July 1, 2019 By Mike Rinder 85 Comments

Though there are 3 "ideal orgs" in Germany -- Berlin, Hamburg and Stuttgart and 6 "regular" orgs -- Dusseldorf, CC Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hannover, Munich and CC Munich (3 of these really exist on paper only) — things remain moribund for scientology in the largest nation in Europe. No new orgs in Germany since the 1980's. None in the former East Germany ever. And some updated news as the Office for the Protection of the Constitution issued its latest annual report last week: Again in 2018, the Scientology Organization did not come closer to achieving its objective of establishing a … [Read more...]

Inside the Mind of a Scientologist

June 26, 2019 By Mike Rinder 73 Comments

This is NOT a post about politics. This might just easily have been a scientologist's Facebook post about Pro-Trump people and Fox News as about anti-Trump people and CNN. What this Facebook post actually illustrates is the blinkers through which scientologists "see" the world. Anyone who disagrees with their view is "psych-controlled" and "bought by Big Pharma." These are the scientology boogeymen that "explain" all failures, all opposition and all that might be bad in the world. Literally. It's "The Psychs". Why this woman believes psychs are partial to CNN but not Fox News, or … [Read more...]

Scientology and Psychiatry

May 7, 2019 By Mike Rinder 143 Comments

You trace what is wrong with this planet and you trace it straight to psychiatry. L. Ron Hubbard If there is one thing everyone can agree upon about scientology -- ardent fans and ardent critics alike -- scientology HATES psychiatry and all things psychiatric. Why? Hubbard originally sought the blessing of psychiatrists and the American Psychiatric Association for his theories in Dianetics. When they rejected him as a quack and Dianetics as "nothing but the bunk," they instantly became his sworn enemies. Overnight he shifted from seeking their approval and support to proclaiming … [Read more...]

More on Scientology Fair Game: Black Propaganda

February 18, 2019 By Mike Rinder 111 Comments

I have written a number of articles concerning the scientology’s Fair Game doctrine and practice. L. Ron Hubbard proclaimed those designated as "enemies" of scientology should be destroyed. It is a literal admonition to lie, trick, frame, smear, harass anyone scientology does not like. In scientology, the words of L. Ron Hubbard are the words of God -- they are to be taken literally and it is deemed a "crime" in scientology to alter, deviate from or seek to interpret his words. They are not seen as parables, allegories or things to be interpreted, they are to be followed to the letter, … [Read more...]

Scientology Medical Quackery

February 9, 2019 By Mike Rinder 126 Comments

Scientology is often criticized by those who claim it practices medicine without a license. They protest this heavily, claiming they do NOT treat or cure illnesses. Of course, in the scientology world, mental illness is NOT an illness. It is just a bunch of false labels used to persuade people to buy drugs (kind of like scientology is a bunch of false information used to get people to buy scientology)... In scientology, being prescribed a "psych drug" makes you an "illegal pc" ineligible for auditing (though plenty of illegal pc's have been persuaded to hand over money, only to later be … [Read more...]
