Fast Eddie is a one-man dumpster fire of crazy. His tweets become more and more unhinged as he frantically tried to think of something to say that is going to get anyone to believe that the abuses (and policies) exposed on The Aftermath are not the truth. I am variously a bobblehead, wife-beater, liar, Big Pharma Whore, bigot, anti-religionist, hater and now Goebbels protege. Now, if we apply a little of Hubbard "technology" of a "criminal accuses others of what he himself is doing." This is the entry on Goebbels from Wikipedia: Paul Joseph Goebbels was a G … [Read more...]
Happy New Year
Happy 2019 to all who come here to participate in this community whether just as a reader or a commenter. We start the New Year with a new episode of The Aftermath tonight, which I believe is a good omen for things to come in 2019. Meanwhile David Miscavige, the one True Leader jetted off to Joburg to cut the ribbon on an absolutely pointless building -- the new "AO Africa". It is staffed with SO Members from Flag (they couldn't get any from Africa apparently) to serve a few small and failing orgs -- less orgs than any AO in history. They are offering "cheap prices" because the Rand is so … [Read more...]
Scientology Lies About LGBTQ
Someone sent this Instagram post to me recently. It is the perfect example of scientology saying one thing publicly to be “acceptable” (Hubbard called this an “acceptable truth”) and what they actually believe and practice. As you may have noticed, they also make a big deal about celebrating Christmas but do not believe in Christ. They also claim you can be a scientologist and any other religion but that is a lie that was disproven when asked about it by the IRS and admitted it was not true (it’s an indicia of a real religion that it’s a single faith - you are not both Catholic and Protestant, … [Read more...]
Merry Christmas
I want to wish everyone a wonderful day of peace, happiness and goodwill. Whether you are Christian or not, everyone can share in the holiday spirit. I hope each of you has the opportunity to spend a day with family and friends (especially children - for whom this is a magical day of excitement) as we will be. The only sour note note to be heard among the caroling is the fact that many readers here are cut off from some family members and friends because of the cruel scientology practice of disconnection. My wish is that you can enjoy and be thankful for what you DO have today and try … [Read more...]
Janis Gillham-Grady
One of my oldest and dearest friends, Janis appeared on The Aftermath last week to help shed light on the life and disappearance of Shelly Miscavige. Her fantastic, almost photographic memory is a treasure that should not be taken for granted. And she has put her gift to excellent use in the two books she has published so far chronicling her life which also serve as the definitive history of the Sea Organization. If you want to know what life was like with L. Ron Hubbard in the formative years of the Sea Org, the first two volumes of Janis' story are the only place to go. Her extensive … [Read more...]
Fast Eddie Parkin Strikes Out Again
Leader of the STAAD League and Westworld extra hopeful "Fast Eddie" Parkin has dropped another foot-nuke in his desperation to smear Leah Remini and me. In late November we aired an episode about the Jehovah's Witnesses. In mid-December an arsonist burned down a Kingdom Hall in Washington State. Ever fast on the draw, Eddie got busy on Twitter, posing the not-so-subtle question whether this could be the latest "A&E and Leah Remini product"? It seems even Fast Eddie was a little worried about what he was saying -- it's an old trick to accuse by posing a question, like if I asked "Does … [Read more...]
Tis the Season
Our old friend Terra has some timely thoughts to share... Tis the Season L. Ron Hubbard hating giving anything away for free and insisted on charging a hefty price for most all things connected with Scientology. He preached that people didn’t value goods and services that were given freely. Anything worth having was worth paying for. Paying for something meant it was valuable. Given freely, it was not. This philosophy has hardened the hearts of countless Scientologists, driving many toward the level of “No Sympathy” on his infamous Tone Scale. The typical church member has little compa … [Read more...]
Do You Swear to Tell the Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But the Truth?
Terra is back once again... Do You Swear to Tell the Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But the Truth? Scientology has a reputation of attacking anyone they perceive as a threat. They bully. They coerce. They intimidate. Hire private investigators. Apply pressure. And last but not least, they threaten legal action via a cadre of soulless lawyers. That said, when is the last time the church actually sued someone? And won? Not this century, anyway. Appearing in Court? Oh, No! The problem for Scientology with regards to lawsuits is the potential of having to appear in court and back up … [Read more...]
Gaslighting: A Short Tutorial
After The Aftermath episode on the Watchtower Society, and thinking about mind control organizations in general and scientology in particular, I thought it fitting to republish an article from Psychology Today about gaslighting. Someone sent this to me recently in relation to a completely different topic, but it has a lot of application to world of cults (some would say all organized religion) and how people are persuaded to believe the unbelievable and do the unthinkable. I found this enlightening -- just as I found Martha Stoutt's The Sociopath Next Door which I highly re … [Read more...]
Squirrels and Change
Squirrels and Change L. Ron Hubbard defined “squirrel” as, 1. a squirrel is doing something entirely different. He doesn’t understand any of the principles so he makes up a bunch of them to fulfill his ignorance, foists them off on a pc and gets no place. (SH Spec 77, 611C08). 2. Those who engage in actions altering Scn, and offbeat practices. (ISE, p. 40). –v. change and invent processes. (HCOB 15 Jan 70 II).” In HCO PL 14 Feb 65, he defined “squirreling” as, “altering Scientology, offbeat practices. It is a bad thing.” Comparing anyone who would try something different to a rodent is a t … [Read more...]
