The Continuing Saga of St Louis’ “Not Ideal” Org

May 11, 2022 By Mike Rinder 47 Comments

An update from some ex-scientologists familiar with the failed efforts to make St. Louis "ideal." You may recall, we heard from them back in 2019 -- which I covered in a blog post St Louis Blues -- An Epic Ideal Org Scam   Note: the other two orgs mentioned in that first para are still not close to becoming ideal either... And also remember, this is the organization that boasts they have the ONLY workable "management technology" on earth. Here is the update from our observers. The Church of Scientology bilked $17 million out of Scientologists to fund the St Louis … [Read more...]

Episode 72: Stefani Hutchison Exposing the Lies

January 10, 2022 By Mike Rinder 62 Comments

We bring back one of our favorites this week, the wonderful Stefani Hutchison. Stefani was never a scientologist, but has taken up the cudgel of exposing the lies of scientology on her excellent blog: Confront and Shatter   In this episode, we cover some of the sleuth work Stefani has done, investigating the claims made by scientology and their front groups. You can find the stories on her blog, and I am also listing them here. It is pretty conclusive evidence that when scientology claims they are "working with the Red Cross" or had a "partnership with..." or "they handed … [Read more...]

Scientology Shuttering

March 30, 2020 By Mike Rinder 46 Comments

Here are the comments people sent in yesterday about the state of scientology orgs in their local area. If you have a minute and can contact your local org, I will add it to the update. So far, everywhere seems to be closed except Flag (not sure about the other Advanced Orgs). This is catastrophic for the scientology empire -- the longer staff and public are away from the control mechanisms exerted on them in the bubble, and the more bored they get, the more likely it is they are going to come across something on the internet or TV that is going to start them down the rabbit hole of … [Read more...]

St Louis Blues – An Epic Ideal Org Scam

January 9, 2019 By Mike Rinder 93 Comments

In truth, every "ideal org" is a scam -- but some are scammier than others. Boston comes to mind. New Haven and Battle Creek that have sat empty and neglected for more than a decade. But St Louis might be the greatest scam of idealiness of all. In terms that scientologists can really relate to -- it is epic, monumental and watershed. Here are a few relevant details: In 2007 scientology bought a new building that was to become their "ideal org."  In 2010, the org ED, Chad Lane, announces in the St Louis Post Despatch  * "the nearly 65,000 sq.ft. building is the ideal size for expansion in … [Read more...]

St. Louis Follow Up

August 22, 2018 By Mike Rinder 125 Comments

This information was provided by one of our readers who has familiarity with the situation in St. Louis and is a follow up to the earlier post The Real State of Scientology, St Louis Style.   Church of Scientology Missouri owns a building at 6901 Delmar in University City. It is approximately 15,000 sq.ft. on three floors with parking for about 50 cars. They have a mortgage of about $900,000 on that building and have had the mortgage, as far as I know, during the entire decade of bankrupting members for the "Ideal Org" -- the new building they purchased in 2007. I … [Read more...]

The Real State of Scientology, St Louis Style

August 12, 2018 By Mike Rinder 132 Comments

It's been a year since St Louis org sent out the last edition of their magazine (Clear View) that included recent course and auditing completions. St. Louis "services" many surrounding states, including the eastern half of Missouri. Western Kentucky, Southern Illinois, Iowa, Arkansas.  St. Louis itself has a population of nearly 3 million. Here is what they have accomplished in the last year. Donna Williams by the way is a staff member at the org. And the girl at the bottom, Allie Lane, was raised in Scientology. She is the  daughter of STL Org Executive Director Chad Lane. Needed to … [Read more...]
