An Update on the Anti-Semitic, Racist and Homophobic Statements by Tony Muhammad

March 24, 2019 By Mike Rinder 67 Comments

This update is provided by “John Tyler” who tracks things NOI and posts at @IndieScieNews

It continues to be a subject of great curiosity that scientology’s “religious bigotry watchdog” — the STAND League, doesn’t say a word about this happening right in their own backyard, and that the “Jewish scientologists” (you know, the ones who say you can be a scientologist and a Jew at the same time) and the Jewish scientology apologists like Rabbi Michael Shevak never seem to notice that scientology is in bed with, and PROMOTES a rabid anti-semite.

On December 2, 2018, Scientology Freedom Medal Winner Nation of Islam Minister Tony Muhammad gave a lecture at Muhammad Mosque No. 27 in Los Angeles, CA entitled “Defending Farrakhan: Exposing The Lie And The Liars” in which he stated:

“I’m going to show you how the Jews came to make sure that Black people never made no gains in America through jobs.”

More recently, on February 3, 2019, Scientology Freedom Medal Winner Nation of Islam Minister Tony Muhammad gave a lecture at Muhammad Mosque No. 27 in Los Angeles, CA entitled “They Fear The Rise Of A Black Messiah” in which he stated:

“The serpent is the press, is the media, is the Jewish control.  They’re lying. Lie, lie, lie, lie.”

Unfortunately, sharing on this video has been disabled, but you can see it here.

This is a screenshot of the “Serpent” graphic showing “Jewish Control” of “Fox, CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC.”

Journalist Tony Ortega has previously posted videos of Scientology Freedom Medal winner Minister Tony Muhammad making anti-Semitic, racist and homophobic statements, including this one where he states:

“We’re going to show that Minister Farrakhan never has had a problem with some Jewish people. And he’s going to tell you what he has a problem with. My son is in the entertainment business. And I’m telling you the Jews do control the entertainment business. They control the banking. They control the athletics. They control basketball. They control baseball. They control it all. And, they control the drugs. They control the pimping. They control pedophilia. They control pornography. They control it all. Is it ready, brother? All right let’s play it.”

And earlier, Tony exposed Tony Mohammed for his lies about Leah Remini and claiming “the Jews” were behind The Aftermath series.

And here is another video where Tony Mohammed covers the following:

He asks: “Who do you think controls pornography in Hollywood?” He and his Nation of Islam audience loudly answer “The Jews!”;

Conflates being a victim of pedophilia with being gay; and

Mocks gay people by feigning stereotypical “swishy” gay behavior.

For a further compilation of anti-Semitic, anti-American, racist and homophobic statements by Minister Tony Muhammad, please go here:

Scientology presented Tony Muhammad its highest award, the Freedom Medal, in November 2017. and an Ebony Awakening Award in 2018.

Scientology continues to feature Tony Muhammad on Scientology TV.

Indeed, when I Google “Tony Muhammad, the first results I get are for Church of Scientology videos for his Scientology TV “Voices for Humanity” episode.

In case anyone was still wondering about Minister Tony Muhammad’s continuing relevance in the Church of Scientology, on March 14, 2019, he was featured as a “special guest” at an IAS dinner held at the Church of Scientology of Inglewood.

As I stated in a previous post, after all of their posturing and spouting of their hatred of the white race, those racist Nation of Islam leaders sing a different tune when they are paid enough. The ONLY color that TRULY matters to them is the color of money. DISGUSTING!

Theirs is essentially a modern made-up belief like Scientology. The NOI grew in part out of a masonic-type group called the Moorish Science Temple, founded by African-Americans who wanted to imagine a more romantic version of their history, that they were descended from North African Muslims rather than mostly West African tribal people.

No branch of Islam, recognizes them as actual Muslims. Their notions about Islam are second- and third-hand, mixed with the theories and teachings of various of their leaders over time, including Farrakan’s own “space opera” about a UFO-style “sky wheel.”

Richard, your account does show how, in the old days, volume and persistence may have paid off for Scientology in terms of recruiting, at least sometimes. The CofS, typically for a moribund aging organization, is stuck in old patterns that now hardly work, if it all.

And so you were there back when SLC was a mission, not an org? I didn’t have that in mind, but it goes towards explaining how you were somewhat isolated from the things that were starting to happen.

“Rabbi” Michael Shevak is not necessarily a rabbi at all. He claims that he was privately ordained but will not say who allegedly ordained him. That is suspicious. It is like claiming to have graduated from a private high school but refusing to name it.

His alleged synagogue, if it even exists, is sketchy. Where is it? Does it own a building? Operate a religious school? Does anyone get paid to work there besides “Rabbi” Shevak?

He calls himself a rabbi. I call him a grifter and a Scientologist.

In Columbia, Scientology used a “rabbi” claiming to do ecumenical work who, when I poked around, turned out to have gotten his supposed ordination from a Florida diploma mill type operation, and to have been a member of the Moonies.

A quick search shows Shevak claiming association with the Bucks County Free Synagogue, and The Patton Foundation. The Bucks County Free Synagogue has little presence other than a tie through an apparently defunct website to a rural property with a house and barn on it, that is also associated with The Association For Universal Judaism; their website has a biography of him, claiming ambiguously that he was “Privately ordained by a Reform bet din in 1995”

      https://enlightenedjudaism.org/founders/

Ortega’s Bunker has an article that features him claiming that he has only done some interfaith work with the New York “church”:

      https://tonyortega.org/2016/12/18/oh-look-scientology-started-a-blog-and-it-already-won-an-award/

The Central Conference of American Rabbis in a paper titled “Who Is a Rabbi?” says:

“Any rabbi today is entitled to ordain any student who in the rabbi’s opinion has attained that level of knowledge which qualifies him or her to function as a rabbi….there is no substantive, objective content to the title “rabbi.”
      ….
To summarize: not everyone who may be called “rabbi” is necessarily deserving of that distinction. Your community is under no obligation to recognize the rabbinical credentials of those individuals who have received “ordination” privately or from lowly-regarded institutions. The rabbis in your city are similarly under no obligation to accept these persons as colleagues and as members of your local rabbinical association.”

I got a good laugh when he said that Jews control pimping.

I once visited New York City and on 42nd Street, you could see a Jew on almost every street corner wearing their religious garb – including their Yarmulkas (round hat that covers the top of their heads), their Tallus (a prayer garment similar to the garments that Mormons wear under their shirts.

The only exception to the traditional Orthodox religious garb were the very loud suits, ties and hats they wore. Most of them had at least a dozen different colours. Have you ever seen pictures of the stereotypical pimps that work in New York City? These Jews were dead ringers.

(The above post was my attempt at Sarcasm. I know that I’m not very good at it. But I promise that I’ll try to get better.

They were all leading a string of girls who were dressed like hookers. How could anyone ever need any more proof that Jews control all the pimping?

Skyler – Recent new headlines showed that there is a group of African Americans saying they are Black Jews. Were any of the Jew pimps you observed on 42nd Street Black? (I lived in NYC for a year around 1970 and your comment brought back some memories. 42nd Street was pretty rough at that time and I avoided it.)

While living in NYC someone handed me a pamphlet about Scientology. I read through it and found it quite interesting but I didn’t participate at that time. Seven years later I was sitting in a park in Salt Lake City and a woman began talking to me about Scientology and told me that SLC had a Mission there. Recalling my previous curiosity I walked in and “signed up”.

Wow, quite the read. Just goes to show how far bs can go. How many people died or had their lives destroyed by such propaganda or treating such documents as factual? The Nazis must have loved stuff like that. Reminds me of the stuff Hubbard wrote about the psyches – Scios believe every word of it and act accordingly. No wonder the policy of disconnection is employed without question due to the unrelenting threats from above if they don’t have someone to blame & hate for ALL their misfortunes, even blaming their own family & friends. It’s a sad, sad thing the mechanisms employed by the insanity of the wannabe ruling elite to broadly create hate to mask their own agendas & atrocities.

Probably no more so than Hubbard’s derivative attempt at the same sort of “false flag” propaganda, Brain-Washing, is among Scientologists:

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain-Washing_(book)

In Europe and the US, some of the same extremist organizations that have published the Protocols, have also put out editions of Hubbard’s Brain-washing.

Boy oh boy… this replacement poster boy of Scioland is as slimy as they get, but, if anyone one deserves him, it’s Scientology.
I honestly believed a fairy tale years ago, that “once upon a time” Scientology had the answer for creeps like him but the evidence is that he sits proudly at the same table as Miscavige and they all float along with the trail blazing mind fuck dreamed up by Hubbard. It’s also evident to me that they would both view Hubbard as someone to be highly despised as they now sit satisfied that have truly made Scientology’s tech their own.
Baghdad Bob would be proudly sitting at their table too if it wasn’t for the over zealous actions of Saddam inviting the US military & some allies to step in and sort a few things out.
Scientology is way past simply being a criminal enterprise, it’s a hate machine! (and damn good fun for the insane cretins at the top of it).

I wonder if Mr Muhammad realizes that slavery has a very ancient history/ancestry. I have to say that slavery in America was certainly a stain on it, nothing was right about it, so I’m not excusing it and never would.

I just bought a book The Seven Daughters of Eve by Bryan Sykes. It deals with our DNA and I can’t help but wonder how he would feel if he found that he just might have some DNA and ancestry that would have him reconsidering his views.

SOMETHING needs to be done about this situation. I wish I had a mailing list of every scientologist on the planet so that I could personally send them the recordings of their IAS medal winner in all of his glory. Miscavige is really playing with fire by aligning himself with this hateful group- I hope it explodes in his deserving face soon.

However, I can-and will- remind the Rabbis in the interfaith STAND of exactly what they are aligning themselves with. Please join me if you can! This needs to get spread to as many people as possible

Scientology also manages to co-opt various interfaith and charitable organizations – witness attendance at some of their events, particularly those hosted by front groups in LA and Clearwater. Apparently some are unaware of Scientology’s background and nature, and others must think that the CofS can be normalized and brought into the fold of mainstream groups – which the alliance with the NOI, and other consistent abuses, show not to be true.

Part of it gets down to the arguments over “new religious groups” or NRMs. I think that Scientology is a unique, and incorrigible, example, precisely because it has “baked in” to its very essence that sort of principles diametrically opposed to Judeo-Christian morals and ethics addressed in the previous day’s piece here, plus they have strict doctrine and organizational structures intended specifically to prevent any possible evolution or reformation.

Quite a few organizations have severed ties to Scientology, once people contacted them to challenge activities that could be seen to support or legitimize the CofS, and to provide information about how it and its front groups actually operate. That good work needs to be kept up.

I posted about this some time ago but it wasn’t very relevant at that time. However if you want to see just how crazy some of the more Orthodox Jewish sects can be, there is an excellent documentary film called, “One of Us” that documents the terrible ordeal facing Orthodox Jews who try to break away from their cult-like sect.

I suppose this is not necessarily relevant but before anyone accuses me of being Anti-Semetic, I will tell you that I was born Jewish but have always lived an anti-religious life. I don’t feel Anti-Semetic but I do feel the more Orthodox Jewish sects are very cult-like.

Here is the IMDB link to this film: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7214842

If you are interested, I hope you will enjoy this film.

I sure could use some help! Doggone it! Oh Shittle Dittle! I guess that I’m just lost Doggone it! I have the same problem when it comes to girls. I don’t seem to have enough talent to make serious proposals and I don’t have enought talent to make them laugh. Bottom Line? Oh Shit! From Louie’s point of view back then (he began promoting Dianetics in 2010) all Black people would have engramic memories of servitude and oppression. Get rid of them and you’re well on your way to Black Supremacy. Dianetics The Modern Science of Mental Health ended off at prenatals with no mention of past lives or an OT cosmology. How current NOI mesh Scientology beliefs with NOI beliefs requires some imagination.

      Back scratching, pure and simple.

Uber-rich CO$ needs people. They’re desperate for BODIES, to fill up their orgs, to attend their events. “Bodies in the shop”, I think is what the basic stat would be called.

      Uber poor NOI needs MONEY.

It has a few wealthy donors – the late Aretha Franklin was one of them – but nothing compared to Scientology’s whales. NOI’s flock are overwhelmingly poor and/or out of work and on the dole African Americans in large cities, struggling with all the societal ills that downtrodden people have experienced for generations, i.e drug addiction, crime as both victim and perpetrator, hopelessness illness, suicide. The NOI that resonate to the message of hatred of the Jews are desperate people and ike all desperate, depressed, despairing people they need, or think they need, a scapegoat for all their troubles and for them, its the Jews.

Middle class African Americans in this country are an overwhelmingly Christian, regular church going demographic with church being very much a hub for their social activities too.

In brief, middle class American blacks are not NOIs; NOI’s demographic is comprised of the urban poor.

Maybe NOI members partaking in scientology to whatever extent they can feel they are aspiring to something bigger and better than themselves, new knowledge which is endorsed by their leader Farrakhan. Every day I was on course I felt like I was learning something new and there was always a sense of satisfaction in that.

          Richard,
Agreed 100%. Not only are they bootstrapping themselves up, not being victims anymore but instead learning what they need to help themselves, but they’re helping others too. Powerful stuff.

And I’ll opine that what they’re learning on the basic courses in Scientology orgs WILL help them bootstrap themselves up but there’s a caveat to this:

That said, the ONLY reason it has workedfor them is because they are not FLEECED for every dime they have. The IAS, Ideal M’Orgs, Way To Happiness Campaigns, Library donations – all of Co$’s scams are off limits to NOI.

Its a known fact that staff are FORBIDDEN to crust reg NOI as they do their other sheeple – the LEAST of the reasons for this being that the NOI have no money!

Plenty of non NOI Scientologists are broke and that doesn’t stop the regges from fleecing them unmercifully. No,their being a poor demographic in general with many of them jobless, on welfare, food stamps and struggling is NOT the reason the NOI are immune from being fair game for fleecing as the rest of the sheeple are.

Stunning. Can the church of scientology go any lower than getting in bed with NOI and this guy, Tony Muhammad? Probably. It’s proven me wrong before.

I appreciate your keeping tabs on Scientology’s connections to such bigotry. I do think it’s a mistake to use the word “racism” in this context, however. I know that traditionally the word racism has been used to mean racial bigotry of any type, but more study of the history and reality of racism led to the adoption of the word racism for the more systemic and systematic variety, leaving “racial bigotry” to cover things that go in the reverse direction of historic oppression. I don’t like what Tony Muhammed has to say about Jews. It is anti-Semitic; it is unfair bigotry; it is harmful. It is not, however, equivalent to the effect of hundreds of years of violence, enslavement, and oppression of people of African ancestry by people of European ancestry. It is not embedded in our language and all our institutions. Muhammed is a bigot, but neither he nor his predecessors participated in the Holocaust. They say terrible things, including about Hitler and the Holocaust, but they have not committed such crimes. They have not abducted people from their homeland, enslaved them, or lynched them. I therefore think it is a mistake to accuse him of racism. He is racially bigoted, yes, but racism is much bigger than bigotry.

      Cat W.

By your reasoning, all white people alive today who say racist things personally abducted and enslaved and lynched people. Historically, the Holocaust is closer in time than slavery- this display is racism. PERIOD. And by the way, the Jewish people underwent many THOUSANDS of years of hatred, bigotry and killing- along with being ousted from their homes, enslaved and persecuted, murdered and vilified. This is just the most recent attack. (And no, Im not Jewish – I just hate it when people use this reasoning to dismiss racism in any of its nastiest forms )
I think your heart is in the right place, but please look at the history of the groups associated with the issues.

      Best,

Look at these sites please. This is a global issue and a definition based on the narrow viewpoint used by some in the United States does a great disservice to all of the bigger global issues of racism. I get where you are coming from, but look at it globally not locally.

      Cat W. — You say:

” I know that traditionally the word racism has been used to mean racial bigotry of any type, but more study of the history and reality of racism led to the adoption of the word racism for the more systemic and systematic variety, leaving “racial bigotry” to cover things that go in the reverse direction of historic oppression.”

I normally try *very* hard not comment using this screen name / identity / “valence” on politics, or indeed anything other than Scientology. Nonetheless, I feel compelled to state that I utterly and completely reject your comment. I find the attempt to redefine the words “racism” and “racist” for blatantly obvious political purposes to be *truly* objectionable.

You refer to the “adoption of the word racism for the more systemic and systematic variety.” The questions are:

Adoption by whom? Liberals and liberal academics.

On what scientific basis? None. The idea that the redefinition of the words “racism” and “racist” will lead to scientifically meaningful, falsifiable hypotheses (in the Popperian sense) is risible. Any argument the redefinition has any scientific purpose or effect is a joke.

On what authority? None other than a liberal echo chamber.

Two what obvious purpose? To redefine the word “racism” so that White people, including in this case Jewish people, can *by definition* never be the victims of racism. And so that Black people and other people of color can *by definition* never be guilty of racism, even when the victims are members of another historically oppressed group, a group that not that long ago survived their own Holocaust, the Jews.

Scientology Freedom Medal Winner Nation of Islam Minister Tony Muhammad is racist. He is guilty of racism. Any attempt to say otherwise blatantly ignores the well-established and historical meaning of the words “racism’ and “racist. It does so for the patently obvious purpose of scoring political points, as well as advantaging in discourse one group (i.e., people of color) over another group (white people).

Any attempt in this case to argue that Jewish people are *not* the victims of racism, and that Tony Muhammad is not racist against Jewish and White people, is disgusting.

I am replying to my own comment to add the following.

The concepts of de jure racism, institutional racism, and systemic racism are well known and in common use. When one wants to talk about de jure racism, institutional racism, or systemic racism, one uses the correct qualifier or term.

To redefine racism as requiring, by definition, that it must be de jure [and? or?] institutional [and? or?] systemic is completely unnecessary. When one means de jure racism, one says de jure racism. When one means institutional racism, one says institutional racism. When one means systemic racism, one says systemic racism.

Redefining racism as necessarily implying, by definition, that must be de jure [and? or?] institutional [and? or?] systemic also does nothing to aid understanding. On the contrary, it obfuscates rather than clarifies.

The redefinition also creates confusion because most people still interpret the word as it has historically be defined, and indeed is still defined in dictionaries. Quite frankly, almost no one outside academia and liberal circles is going to read or hear the word “racism” and give it the proposed, more narrow, more demanding definition.

“equivalent to the effect of hundreds of years of violence, enslavement, and oppression of people of African ancestry by people of European ancestry. ”

Cat you are EXTREMELY uneducated (when coupled with instant education via the internet also makes you EXTREMELY lazy). Arabs, for a THOUSAND years before Europeans (and under the muslim banner later), and over 100 years AFTER Europe outlawed slavery, enslaved African’s at a rate a THOUSAND times more than “Europeans.

Here is the richest person in the history of Earth. https://www.history.com/news/who-was-the-richest-man-in-history-mansa-musa

He was an African muslim king who converted half his subjects to Islam and kept the other half “native” as he could sell non-Muslims into slavery. The “natives” became his wealth because he could sell them by the THOUSANDS to Muslims in North Africa, the Mid-East and all the way to Persia.

True, that. The Arabs were no slouches in the slave trade. That doesn’t take away from the heinous crimes of the Europeans, North Americans and South Americans who captured and hauled the Africans across the the Atlantic in chains, but its true that the westerners had HELP in their captures and other aspects of the African slave trade, lots of help from the Muslim Arabs who themselves been enslaving Africans for many centuries.

          Aqua,

throughout history nearly EVERY race/group/tribe/people etc. has both taken slaves and been slaves. It is what it is. It is never right. African tribes actually sold African prisoners to the white slavers. Holding people responsible for what others did isn’t right either (for example, I don’t hold the German nationals I meet in contempt for what may have been done by a forefather or even a father- what is the point? you should hold each person responsible for his or her own conduct). Im sure that if each of us traced out genetic lines far enough back, you would find that they probably practiced slavery. The most that can be done is to try to stop it from ever happening to anyone again, and stop blaming and trying to change the past.

All true what you say, Kat. The way to VAST riches, to amassing GREAT wealth, is and has always been free or very cheap labor. I’m all for letting it go and moving forward but then my people were not slaves in this country. I personally am pro-affirmative action for African Americans as a means to make amends. I think they deserve this from a government under which it was once legal to own, use and sell human beings, I think they deserve some legal reparations for all of the cruelty, pain and injustice they legally suffered over the centuries. But this is not the blog for such opinions and I digress. End of rant from this flaming liberal lefty 🙂
