An old thing I recently came across that is a window into the crazy world of scientology "Operating Thetan" (OT) -- the promise that is the carrot to keep people moving up the Bridge. Becoming "OT" is what all scientologists aspire to achieve: by definition it is full cause over matter, energy, space and time. Interesting scientology doesn’t publicize how many people have completed OT VIII (and they certainly don't want anyone to know about Whitney Mills in the photo above -- she died by self-inflicted gunshot in Clearwater in 2022). Captain Miscavige made this announcement more than 30 years ago. Had you surveyed anyone who attended this monumental/epic/watershed event, what does "closer than you think" mean, I guarantee not one of them would have said anything beyond 5 years. The Volcano Mystery
I got this promo piece recently. The volcano Popocatepetl is near Puebla and is the city's most famous landmark. It got me thinking about Hubbard's list of volcanoes that are part of his OT III story. Not a one in Mexico. Why? Mexico apparently wasn't in his thoughts at the time he concocted his OT III story. How is it that a "New OT VIII," Super Power, 2 time Cause Resurgence Rundown and all 3 L's completions needs an Asthma/Allergy Rundown? Wasn't that cured on Dianetics? Scientologists actually believe "OT's" can influence the weather, bring down the Berlin Wall and restore calm to areas plagued by violence. I was recently reminded of this piece of Hubbard nuttiness. By the time the 80's rolled around, the new "tech" from Source became patently ridiculous. "Pain and Sex" and other strange rants would appear sporadically, the one here is one of the kookiest. OK, so they have not been able to get 10,000 onto or through Solo NOTs in 40 years, so they have come up with a new plan. Half as many through OT VIII. The 10,000 is derived from some obscure Hubbard statement about 10,000 people being able to control the destiny of earth. Truth in advertising? From scientology? Must be inadvertent. There is plenty of evidence that there is no such thing as an "OT" despite what Hubbard claimed. But now, it seems we are getting closer to the truth in the scientology claims about this. Now we are seeing "virtual OT's"..
