I recently did a post How Desperate is the Freewinds? after a promo piece came in offering a $750 "wedding package" on board. I noted that the reason for the Freewinds existing at all was for the delivery of OT VIII -- which supposedly needed to be done "off the crossroads of the world." OT VIIIs are Changing The World
An old thing I recently came across that is a window into the crazy world of scientology "Operating Thetan" (OT) -- the promise that is the carrot to keep people moving up the Bridge. Becoming "OT" is what all scientologists aspire to achieve: by definition it is full cause over matter, energy, space and time. Clearly it does NOT include being fully at cause over truth, as these people are the most delusory of all scientologists. 10,008 on Solo NOTs, How Many OT VIII’s?
Interesting scientology doesn’t publicize how many people have completed OT VIII (and they certainly don't want anyone to know about Whitney Mills in the photo above -- she died by self-inflicted gunshot in Clearwater in 2022). There is, of course, a good reason the number is not publicized. It's so low it would make it very clear there aren’t close to 10,000 on or through Solo NOTs who remain involved in scientology. The insanity of this is hard to comprehend. Here is an "OT VIII" proudly announcing the miracles of running in circles. For the SECOND time! If the theory of the grade chart is true, one advances step by step from the bottom to the top, each successive step building on the one before. You are NOT allowed to even see the OT materials until you have attained the steps below, and the same goes for each successive OT level after that. How is it that a "New OT VIII," Super Power, 2 time Cause Resurgence Rundown and all 3 L's completions needs an Asthma/Allergy Rundown? Wasn't that cured on Dianetics? Or at least on New Era Dianetics for OT's??? How about a "Havingness Rundown"? (If they keep soaking her for everything anyone can possibly pay for, her "havingness" is going to shot). First 5,000 OT VIII’s
OK, so they have not been able to get 10,000 onto or through Solo NOTs in 40 years, so they have come up with a new plan. Half as many through OT VIII. The 10,000 is derived from some obscure Hubbard statement about 10,000 people being able to control the destiny of earth. Clearly Not “Clear”
Brad Spence certainly seems to have had some wins from achieving the state of Clear. But his success story is weak sauce compared to what is promised ny Hubbard concerning the State of Clear. He claims he is now "me" and has found "clarity" in the way he lives life and is more certain in his observations, conclusions and reactions. All very subjective achievements. I could claim those same things from doing meditation or reading a book or just because I woke up an$ the sun was shining and the birds chirping. Frequent commenter here George White sent me this photo of some of the original OT VIII's on the Freewinds in 1988. I don['t recognize many, and George doesn't recall anything other than the first names of some of them. Milt Wolfe is in the center -- he was the CO Flag Ship Service Org, though it was not an assignment that lasted long. I think that is Jane Allen in the back row. She is an IAS Freedom Medal winner who vanished from the scene after contracting cancer.
