Keeping Abuses Secret Under the Guise of Religion

July 28, 2019 By Mike Rinder 67 Comments

John Redwood posted this on Facebook. I think it deserves WIDE reading. It is the same position scientology takes, and they too appealed the decision to turn over the incriminating preclear folders of Laura Dieckman in her civil case to the USSC. Thankfully, they did NOT win. It is my sincere hope that Watchtower is unsuccessful in this effort to overturn a decision against them. John said the following (I added a link to the petition): Jehovah's Witnesses are appealing to the Supreme Court of the United States, but this time it has nothing to do with preaching or saluting the flag. … [Read more...]

More on “Confidential” Files in Scientology

March 14, 2019 By Mike Rinder 48 Comments

No Thursday Funnies this week due to Tom Cruise the cruise. But someone sent this to me as a follow up to the earlier post I had done about the use of priest/penitent files: Scientology Violates Priest-Penitent Confidences -- When It Suits Them. What is so interesting about this issue is the lengths it goes to in order to ensure scientology can assert a privilege to withhold information being turned over in a legal or law enforcement action. This issue comes on the heels of the Christofferson trial and the subsequent jury award of $39 million. The Wollershiem case was coming … [Read more...]

Debbie Cook Revisited

August 5, 2015 By Mike Rinder 246 Comments

It's been some time since any news about Debbie Cook has surfaced. Then last weekend Tony Ortega posted that she has just published a book on Amazon about recovering from Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue. Although I haven't spoken to Debbie in years, I have thought about her and Wayne many times and after reading some of the comments on Tony's blog, I felt some background information might be of interest to fill in a few blanks and perhaps dispel some misconceptions. There hasn’t really been a reason for me to write about this before. Marty covered the activities of her case and the … [Read more...]

Scientology Psychiatric Hypocrisy

May 28, 2015 By Mike Rinder 76 Comments

The hypocrisy of scientology knows no bounds. While proclaiming "the psychs" to be the "source of all evil and degradation on planet earth" amidst announcements of programs to "destroy psychiatry", "eradicate psychiatry" and "obliterate psychiatry" and promoting their "Psychiatry, An Industry of Death" "museum/exhibit," apparently psychs are A-OK as long as they are an element of "dealing with an SP." This practice is known as "Fair Game" -- and while the church claims "the policy is canceled", the PRACTICE is demonstrated routinely as a fundamental tenet of scientology. And here we go … [Read more...]

Scientology Shitstorm

March 14, 2014 By Mike Rinder 161 Comments

The Tampa Bay Times has just put on their website the latest story on human rights and disconnection written by Joe Childs. This is a must read for anyone interested in the subject of Scientology that puts the lie to the church PR that there is no such thing as enforced disconnection. It will appear as the feature story in the Sunday print edition, but went online just as the sheeple were filing into Ruth Eckerd Hall.  You should also read the 25 page order from Judge Waldrip in the Monique Rathbun handed down today and now on Tony Ortega's site.  Judge Waldrip hoisted the church on its own … [Read more...]

PC Folders Are Confidential

March 7, 2014 By Mike Rinder 114 Comments

The church lawyers who stand on their hind legs in court and proclaim the absolute sanctity of pc folders should get a load of this. The lies the church tells the public, media and courts about how NOBODY can access pc folders except the auditor and C/S are exposed by the "CF I/C OTC DK Org" (I guess the OTC is now a "shadow org" with duplicate posts to the org itself). The fact that a public person is recruiting other random public to "go through pc folders" and "pull out data" is one of the more remarkable FB posts I have come across. So typical of the RCS. Virtually everything they say in … [Read more...]

Sydney Ideal Org

February 9, 2014 By Mike Rinder 60 Comments

Some news about the latest "Ideal Org" to blow smoke up the remaining butts that will occupy a seat at an event. I didnt post this email from a few weeks ago -- sort of got lost in other activities. And it was just a single email.  Following is what I wrote about it on 15 January.... Just 6 weeks away from the Grand Opening! And THEN we can START rocketing people up the Bridge. Because everyone knows, you can't get anyone up the Bridge unless you are "ideal." Mark your calendars everyone -- 1 March is the big day (I am taking bets now on when this will in fact occur -- anyone in Sydney … [Read more...]

Miscavige’s New Favorite Reference

January 10, 2014 By Mike Rinder 103 Comments

I recently watched the One Ring Circus that was the IAS Event. Tony Ortega covered it on his blog. If you managed to force yourself to watch it you will have noticed it was a great deal of same old, same old. I think they are even recirculating some of their video elements. But this was especially true in the section on how the IAS is eradicating/destroying/obliterating/annihilating psychiatry and everything it does and stands for.  The Ringmaster repeated over and over again that this is a high priority for the IAS.  It isn't really -- if you have ever had CCHR beg you for money didn't it … [Read more...]

Lying And Fundamentalist Scientology

December 29, 2013 By Mike Rinder 196 Comments

Is the "Church of Scientology" a fundamentalist organization? In my view, it is. And if you read the criteria for fundamentalism above, there is not much doubt that the hard core members of the church fit right in to these 5 points. I was prompted to write this by an interesting post on Marty's blog a little while ago entitled Trained To Lie. I posted a comment in response which I repeat here: Marty — the corollary to this is the fact that these people will do anything to “protect the church” and believe that this is “the greatest good.” Thus, telling a lie is not a harmful act if it going … [Read more...]

Mike Rinder Texas Declaration

December 4, 2013 By Mike Rinder 115 Comments

Because I have it soft copy and because I feel it summarizes a lot of relevant information that should be easily accessible for readers of this blog, this is the text of the declaration filed in the Monique Rathbun case in Texas today. For some reason loading this into wordpress keeps messing up the numbering. It doesnt change any of the text.   DECLARATION OF MICHAEL RINDER My name is Michael Rinder, I am over the age of 21, and I have personal knowledge of the facts stated herein, which I declare are true and correct subject to the penalty for perjury. I was raised in a … [Read more...]

Great take! It would be the most dangerous thing he ever did…

Chris Shelton, MSc @ChrisSheltonMsc

The only stunt I want to see this man perform is speaking out publicly against Scientology.

It would quite literally be the most dangerous thing he could ever do, far more so than these so-called "dangerous" stunts where his life was NOT really on the line at all. https://twitter.com/BritishGQ/status/1557314444392292352
