Dealing with Critics of Scientology – The L. Ron Hubbard Playbook

November 5, 2016 By Mike Rinder 266 Comments

If you read this blog, you are likely aware of Leah Remini's upcoming A&E show. I have had the pleasure of working with Leah on this show as a consultant and participant, a cause of great distress for the church. So I thought I might weigh in with some information I feel is pertinent to events now and into the future. As a reader here you are likely also aware of the "church" reaction to the announcement of the show and the first trailer being released - the usual name-calling, smearing and foot stomping that does not RESPOND in any fashion to the abuses being exposed. … [Read more...]

Going Clear: The Prison Of Belief

January 26, 2015 By Mike Rinder 224 Comments

I am late to the party with my thoughts about Alex Gibney's Going Clear The Prison Of Belief, not being as diligent as Tony Ortega, who despite NOT being a "former Scientologist" nevertheless has the work ethic of a dedicated Sea Org member. There are numerous media accounts of the film and the premiere and I will not try and recount everything, because I don't want to spend hours rehashing what has already been said by others. And frankly, nobody else's take on the movie is going to have the same meaning to you as you will get when you have the opportunity to see it. Which is itself high … [Read more...]

Scientology’s PR Trainwreck

December 10, 2014 By Mike Rinder 156 Comments

The Scientology PR machine is rolling... Like a runaway train on a toboggan ride down the Matterhorn (to steal some shermanspeak). They not only have the international news of the announcement of Alex Gibney's scientology film premiering at Sundance next month, (and a tongue in cheek statement from HBO about having 160 lawyers being picked up internationally to set the mood and get a LOT of people wanting to watch it to see what the noise is all about), now they have a new video of bizarre bubble behavior leaking out into the real world with Cathy Fraser and Co "confronting and shattering" … [Read more...]

PC Folders Are Confidential

March 7, 2014 By Mike Rinder 114 Comments

The church lawyers who stand on their hind legs in court and proclaim the absolute sanctity of pc folders should get a load of this. The lies the church tells the public, media and courts about how NOBODY can access pc folders except the auditor and C/S are exposed by the "CF I/C OTC DK Org" (I guess the OTC is now a "shadow org" with duplicate posts to the org itself). The fact that a public person is recruiting other random public to "go through pc folders" and "pull out data" is one of the more remarkable FB posts I have come across. So typical of the RCS. Virtually everything they say in … [Read more...]

Beating A Dead Horse (Sheeple?)

February 27, 2014 By Mike Rinder 66 Comments

It seems the wheels are coming off the Ideal Org bandwagon. This from the land of superhype, where unreality is the norm and the KoolAid flows freely.- the "First Ideal Continent" springing forth from the Miscavige Minions of PAC. Even with the Grand re-re-reopenings set for this weekend the lustre of the "Ideal Orgs" seems to have worn awfully thin. (As a note about this weekend, it occurred to me to wonder what Dear Leader is going to do for makeup on Sunday -- his normal high-priced makeup artist Bruce has no doubt been booked for the Academy Awards for many months which probably has … [Read more...]

The “Ideal PAC”

January 27, 2014 By Mike Rinder 69 Comments

The PAC Bridge is getting the big push. No reason really, other than another way of the vultures trying to squeeze money out of the nearly-dead. Apparently they are soon to have "Ideal Sea Org Orgs" -- ASHO and AOLA. But ASHO and AOLA have both had TWO "Grand Openings" already? Both times they were announced as the "perfect organizations, just as LRH intended." So,they are going to do ANOTHER photo op for Dear Leader to spout some Shermanspeak, yank a ribbon and soak in the applause. How feeble is it that the "Ideal Org" program has now become re-renovating ASHO and … [Read more...]

We Never Deliver What We Promise

January 2, 2014 By Mike Rinder 125 Comments

Here is a new twist. You are in the middle of a service (one of Miscavige's certified "On Source" checksheets that came with the "Golden Age of Tech") and He reverts it back to an earlier version ("just how LRH intended it"), raises the price and then expects you to pay for the "upgrade". Mid-service. Wow. Wonder if they ever thought of recrediting people for all the extra auditing they had to get in the "old" GAT Bridge before the release of the new, streamlined, extra on-Sourcy "upgraded" GAT II Bridge? You know, the "pilot" that was being delivered at Flag for 9 years while the Class V … [Read more...]

Happy New Year

December 31, 2013 By Mike Rinder 101 Comments

To everyone that is part of the extended family that gathers here to share views, to see what's going on or are just a little curious -- Happy New Year. 2013 has been an adventure. I sincerely appreciate the encouragement and support I have received from so many of you. Over the past few days, Tony Ortega has recapped the year and if you haven't caught up with it, do so at his blog. A LOT has happened. The landscape of the Scientology world has shifted. In my view there were two monumental events in the last year: 1. Monique Rathbun filing her lawsuit. To mix metaphors -- this is a … [Read more...]

Lying And Fundamentalist Scientology

December 29, 2013 By Mike Rinder 196 Comments

Is the "Church of Scientology" a fundamentalist organization? In my view, it is. And if you read the criteria for fundamentalism above, there is not much doubt that the hard core members of the church fit right in to these 5 points. I was prompted to write this by an interesting post on Marty's blog a little while ago entitled Trained To Lie. I posted a comment in response which I repeat here: Marty — the corollary to this is the fact that these people will do anything to “protect the church” and believe that this is “the greatest good.” Thus, telling a lie is not a harmful act if it going … [Read more...]

The Big Scientology Lie

December 27, 2013 By Mike Rinder 104 Comments

"Scientology is more than 11,000 churches, missions and groups."  (The latest Scientology public relations line.) They have just increased the number from 10,000. It's funny how they can count every single phantom individual in attendance at the mini ribbon cutting for the SP building (10,273) but can only operate to the closest thousand when it comes to their number of churches....   No doubt this new number was dictated by the master manipulator just as He did when He told Heber Jentzsch to stop saying there are 6 million Scientologists in the world and just say it's 8 million "otherwise … [Read more...]

@jj1109 @UltioetVeritas @MikeRinder @LeahRemini @KarendlaCariere @tarpleyhitt @thedailybeast @randomname7700 @TeamSPNetwork @SkyBird03914123 @Deana828 It’s been well documented that SeaOrg members do not receive much education other than Scientology training. On the recent Fair Game podcast Marc Headley confirmed that he was encouraged to drop out when just 15 years old. They appear confident in their ignorance of acronyms.

Excellent article by @tarpleyhitt in @thedailybeast about #scientology in the workplace and this company that is an avenue to politicians for scientology "safepointing" (see my recent blog post about this subject with Hubbard quotes).
