Scientology’s Decade

January 7, 2020 By Mike Rinder 60 Comments

Dan Sherman conjured up a verbal orgasm of gushing babble to hype the sheeple at the scientology New Year's Celebration. No need to attend the event, you can read all about it at scientology.org in 10 minutes and spare yourself the pain of  "Standing O" calisthenics every time Dear Leader actually completes a run-on sentence. At the outset, let's remember that the "turn of the decade/century" event in 1999 was held at the LA Sports Arena -- a FAR larger venue than the Shrine Auditorium. Given the unprecedented, massive, straight up and vertical expansion they claim to have … [Read more...]

Thursday Funnies

October 31, 2019 By Mike Rinder 41 Comments

JAW at it again? "Superfan" John Alex Wood elicited a "Fuck scientology" from Eric Idle. Perhaps the Pythons will have something to say about this?   Well, not sure about best... But certainly poorest.   How sad... His life was a mess. So he moved his family to Columbus to join staff. No doubt with promises of a place to say and good pay. Expect he will reach out to the Aftermath Foundation in about 6 weeks...   Wow, what an honor This is actually a thing?   Erm, what about "Done Sir"? That was last month. All … [Read more...]

David Miscavige: End Game

September 3, 2019 By Mike Rinder 175 Comments

Tony Ortega recently posted an article Has Scientology's leader David Miscavige gone underground in the face of a legal onslaught? It prompted a few thoughts. I have long said that I thought Miscavige's inevitable trajectory would be to follow in the footsteps of Hubbard. Despite all the ONE thing he must continue to do is use Hubbard as his front. He MUST continue to present himself as the anointed successor to Hubbard. Much as he might have "replaced" Hubbard and set himself up as "Source Jnr" with his various iterations of "Golden Age of Tech", there is no doubt that if he overtly … [Read more...]

The “Golden Age” of Delusion

January 28, 2019 By Mike Rinder 90 Comments

Since Miscavige announced the "Golden Age of Tech" way back in 1997 (?) it seems that scientology has been in anything BUT a golden age. While they have purchased plenty of buildings, the number of orgs and missions has DECREASED in this time. The number of active scientologists continues to plummet. The amount of public exposure of their abuses is at a constant state of emergency level. Therecare constantly announcements that orgs are "going to go ideal" or "we ARE going St Hill Size" and now Missions are even getting in on the act "this is the year we build the ideal … [Read more...]

David Miscavige Leader of Men

January 31, 2018 By Mike Rinder 143 Comments

Of course, though the STAAD League blocked me from seeing their tweets (though I am the subject of a lot of them...) people send me some of their drivel every now and then. This one came in a little while ago. If you looked up "brown-nosing" in the dictionary you might well find this tweet presented as an example. "Mr." David Miscavige (nobody DARE refer to him as merely "David Miscavige" or heaven forbid, "David" or perish the thought, "Dave") has apparently marked many wayposts on the path to peace (like a dog peeing on a fire hydrant?) and somehow they "pointed" to a better … [Read more...]

OT VIII is Lame

March 21, 2017 By Mike Rinder 212 Comments

The OT VIII success stories circulated by the Freewinds are really lame. No wonder it's a ghost ship. Two of them were sent to me recently. And they are notable for what they DON'T say. They repeat, mantra-like, that OT VIII is "the first actual OT level" (funny, all those other ones used to be "actual" OT levels too) and the supposed  remedy for amnesia on the Whole Track. That is a very bold claim. Sort of like "exterior at will with full perceptions" which the L's are supposed to provide. One would imagine that someone who had gained the ability to recall everything on their Whole … [Read more...]

The Survival Rundown – The Latest Scam

June 27, 2016 By Mike Rinder 162 Comments

Another in the continuing series of thought provoking posts from Terra Cognita.  TC's previous posts: Communication in Scientology... Or Not,  Am I Still A Thetan?,  To Be Or Not To Be,  An Evaluation of Scientology,  Fear: That Which Drives Scientology and Justification and Rationalization.   The Survival Rundown – David Miscavige’s Latest Scam I’m embarrassed to say that I actually spent many hours on this rundown. I’m proud to say I finally woke up and queried what the fuck I was doing. That said, I’m not here to defend or condemn LRH or objective processing, but to explain … [Read more...]

Who Needs OT Levels?

June 1, 2016 By Mike Rinder 150 Comments

According to this promotional piece, L11 handles everything. So why bother with OT levels? Or anything else for that matter? But then again, there are a lot of "success" stories about every scientology service (Student Hat, Purif, Objectives, Grades, Dianetics, PTS RD, Word Clearing and on and on ad nauseum) where the person proclaims it holds the answers to EVERYTHING and has made them TOTAL CAUSE on all dynamics or "no longer effect of the physical universe" or whatever. Of course, none of them are true. I saw something today proclaiming that OT VIII absolutely "cures" "amnesia on the … [Read more...]

OT VIIIs: The Blind and Deaf

May 23, 2016 By Mike Rinder 166 Comments

Scientology is a study in contradictions. But it would seem even the most enlightened beings at the top of the bridge aren't able to perceive even the most obvious of them. Read this first message sent to OT VIIIs by the Senior C/S for their "next OT Levels." Put aside there is no such thing, which they have apparently not realized yet, I wonder if they recall the "success story" they wrote after they completed OT VIII about how they were now total cause over the universe and had the full meaning of life revealed... But hold on, these super beings who have completed the first of the … [Read more...]

New OT IX & X Are Closer Than You Think

October 4, 2015 By Mike Rinder 167 Comments

Remember when the prerequisite for OT IX and X was that you had to be a Class VI auditor and all specialist auditor training courses?  And thus the OT VIII's were all being hammered to get on auditor training.... Could not do that these days, as there is no Briefing Course. Of course, like most of what happens in the church of scientology today -- this is a moving goalpost. The prereqs are whatever thing Miscavige is pushing as his latest fad. After Class VI the "prerequisites" became that they had to do the Basics to be allowed onto OT IX and X. And then the Congresses and ACCs were … [Read more...]

Justice systems are "a cancer," and police and courts are composed of the "vicious and corrupt" according to #scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. Bear this in mind as the retrial of #DJDonkeyPunch Danny Masterson unfolds...

How Many Taxpayer-subsidized Mansions, Homes and Offices Does a Dead Man Need? It turns out to be a LOT when it comes to #scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. Once again, where is the #IRS? How is this a valid exempt purpose? https://youtu.be/JfmJHiGfevA via @YouTube
