Easter is a uniquely Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Scientologists do NOT believe in Christ -- though Hubbard gave lip service to the idea that "we want the same things Jesus wanted, peace on earth and goodwill for all men" (though even that is not true as great wealth was NOT a goal of Jesus, and goodwill for all men is NOT a goal of scientology -- especially those deemed to be enemies). To be precise, it was even more vague and condescending, Hubbard said: "Scientology can demonstrate that it can attain the goals set for man by Christ, which are: Wisdom, … [Read more...]
Scientology “Expansion” — The Reality
Scientology routinely claims "massive expansion" and "we are the fastest growing religion on earth" and other ludicrous claims. To “prove” it they always talk about "Opening new churches at an unprecedented rate" and show pictures of Miscavige yanking his ribbon in front of adoring crowds as balloons waft into the air in celebration... This large lie seems to work with the sheeple, and even some less than diligent media. After all, they have held grandiose ceremonies for 4 or 5 “new churches” each year. In fact these are not new “churches” they are simply new premises for old and failing sci … [Read more...]
Children in Scientology
Some have been incredulous when told that young children participate in scientology auditing and training. And that it is PAID FOR. Well, here is a new promo piece from the "ideal" org in Pasadena, right under the nose of Church of Scientology International. They are promoting to bring in your children 3 MONTHS AND UP for "group processing." Yes, 3 MONTHS. I have never seen this before. It is really desperate when an org is promoting to service 3 month old infants. This is not something sent out on April Fool's Day.... Here are a couple of other … [Read more...]
What is a “Wog” in Scientology
Hubbard used the word "wog" to describe the world outside of scientology. Non-scientologists are all wogs. Thinking or acting in a way that is not in keeping with what scientologists believe is right is "woggy." Things seen to be irrational in the eyes of scientologists are deemed to be "wog-think." It is a derogatory, condescending and ugly term. Some scientologists have sought to defend its use, claiming "It's not racist". The term (a contraction of golliwog -- an old "blackface" child's doll) was something derogatory and racist. Here is the information from … [Read more...]
How Big is Scientology?
The question as to how big scientology really is comes up often. The organization does not make its membership figures known though they have a good count with the total number of IAS members. Of course even that is inflated as it is notoriously difficult to get OFF a scientology mailing list and as long as they can still send you junk mail you "count" on their statistic. Over the years, spokespeople have variously claimed 4, 6, 8 or 10 million "members" but then refuse to define what a "member" is though a few times they have stated it is "anyone who had bought a book or taken a service … [Read more...]
Thursday Tragedy
It seems inappropriate to run the Thursday Funnies this morning in light of the events at the Inglewood Ideal org last evening. Tony Ortega, as he always does, is keeping up with the story and you can follow the news at his blog. He does a great job of sorting the bs from the real facts. Someone being killed, wherever it occurs, is horrendous and tragic. The circumstances of this death remain unclear, and somewhat mysterious. Either the person who was shot by police is someone who had contact with scientology and was upset about something they had done or were doing, or the person had … [Read more...]
Hubbard’s Fair Game – The REAL Story
If you have not read the article on Tony Ortega's blog about Fair Game yesterday, I recommend you do so. The author, Chris Owen, has been working for years compiling the facts and evidence about many aspects of the history of L. Ron Hubbard and scientology. Tony Ortega published another of his piece about scientology's relations with governments a month or so ago that is also very well worth reading. You will find other articles from him on Tony's site too. Chris is performing an important function. Putting together the real and unvarnished history of Hubbard's creation -- sorting out … [Read more...]
In Memoriam: Amos Jessup
by Janis Gillham Grady (Sorry for the delay, as most of you know, I was out of touch on a cruise for the last week)... Sadly, we all get older and there is a time when each of us will decide it is time to go. With that said, it is time to say goodbye to someone many of us have known and loved – Amos Jessup who passed away today – March 14, 2019. Amos had been sick recently, which I had announced about a month ago to many of his friends. It was thought that he was recovering as he was getting his motor skills back along with his speech, however, after … [Read more...]
Scientology Inciting Murder? STAAD League Suddenly Silent
The hypocrisy of the OSA Front group STAAD is astonishing. Remember when Fast Eddie Parkin and the STAAD League made an enormous deal out of the false story that someone who committed a murder at their Advanced Org in Sydney was "incited" to do so because he had read a website that had a link to an Aftermath show. He claimed repeatedly that Leah Remini and Mike Rinder had "incited a murder" along with "hundreds of other incidents and threats." This of course was a completely manufactured accusation. The alleged murdered has NOT claimed ANY motivation for committing the crime, let alone … [Read more...]
