Thursday Funnies

February 17, 2022 By Mike Rinder 24 Comments

Way to Happiness? They try to latch on to anything. One of the WTH precepts is Support a Government Designed For All the People.... Don't read anything in there about protests or blocking traffic?   A Mini Folder This is to record the mini-BTs?   Looney  Lewis Is his first question projecting himself onto his audience?   Drugged BTs How getting rid of druggie BTs accomplishes this is anyone's guess. Of course, for those who don't know what's on OT IV it sounds amazing. For those who do, they are in on the joke. They go along as it would hurt … [Read more...]

Thursday Funnies

February 10, 2022 By Mike Rinder 33 Comments

Kiddie Corner   Unleash your OT Abilities If all it takes is a webinar, why bother paying for anything?   Those Canadians are the experts... The Continental Org, Toronto, has been languishing for 20 years undone and they already had a building!   Listen to "Paul" But why?   Someone started! It used to be they celebrated someone finishing something....   OT 1 is some OT shit... As long as you have no idea what it entails. Otherwise you know it's kind of like ARC Straightwire.   Really? What Ideal … [Read more...]

Super Bowl BS

February 9, 2022 By Mike Rinder 36 Comments

Unfortunately, it's that time of year again. Each Super Bowl, Scientology does their best to litter the parking lot with fliers people have been handed out and just as quickly thrown away. Usually it is these "Drug Free World Booklets" and also Way To Happiness. And you know neither of them make mention of scientology. There is absolutely NO evidence at all that handing out their booklets "results in less crime and less drug use." These fools really believe that a pamphlet is going to stop a criminal from committing a crime or anyone from using drugs? The only PROVEN result of … [Read more...]

Scientology Targeting Black America

April 24, 2021 By Mike Rinder 33 Comments

They badly need a spellchecker. Which is pretty ironic given the first thing on the list of items they are going to be providing to "raise your ability" is "Study Tech." And this is supposedly an “inspriational weeked of education...” Secondly, they scraped together just 8 black people in Harlem for their photo -- this might be the entire roster of staff and public in this empty org. I doubt they could round up this many people of color in the Inglewood org at all. Scientology is as insincere as politicians seeking votes from "the Black community" -- what they want isn't votes, … [Read more...]

Just How Desperate is LA Org?

January 26, 2020 By Mike Rinder 43 Comments

You likely saw the videos on Tony Ortega's site of the 2 guys ("Reckless Ben") who went into LA Org with hidden cameras. In that last video towards the end you witness the desperation of the regges to get $15 from them. It is really pretty pathetic. This is the "largest Class V org and 'model' ideal org" and they are spending time to try to convince this kid to get $15 right now with every sleazy tactic there is. I didn't think it could get more pathetically desperate than that until this recent Facebook posting was sent to me: First, I assume "Betsy" is an org staff member who is … [Read more...]

Thursday Funnies

January 2, 2020 By Mike Rinder 51 Comments

The new look Crossed arms are so 2019. Holding an empty 3 ring binder is the new thing. Sure says "determined" to me?   Here today, gone tomorrow Just look at ANY of the ideal orgs that have opened and see how many of the people they touted beforehand are there today. Most of these people will never actually start, they just agree to sign up to be left alone for a while.   Big Ben! That's a lot of "secular" stuff for an organization that claims to bring more people onto the Bridge than anyone else on earth...   The Year of Bahamas … [Read more...]

Correlation Without Causation

August 5, 2019 By Mike Rinder 75 Comments

Scientology loves to claim they are responsible for "Clearing the planet" and “bettering society” -- proclaiming they are "slaying the four modern horsemen of the apocalypse, drugs, illiteracy, criminality and immorality."  They routinely take credit for all sorts of things: reducing crime in Colombia by 50%, increasing literacy rates in third world countries, eradicating gang violence etc. They find a statistic and then claim “we handed out 74,000 copies of WTH and the number of divorces in Denmark is lowest in a decade. ”  It is clear (in their minds) that this is incontrovertible evidence … [Read more...]

Memorial Day Disgrace

May 27, 2019 By Mike Rinder 66 Comments

See the excellent piece at Tony Ortega’s blog this morning concerning L. Ron Hubbard’s stolen valor. I was sent a couple of promotional items from this year that have a different focus. Many will find this just as crass as the fake medals and war hero status of Ron the War Hero. This day is supposed to be about remembering those who have fallen, but any excuse to get some suckers in so they can be victims of some good old fashioned “hard sell” is an opportunity scientology does not want to miss. So, on L. Ron Hubbard Way today, in solemn commemoration of his war hero status, kids can … [Read more...]

Thursday Tragedy

March 28, 2019 By Mike Rinder 199 Comments

It seems inappropriate to run the Thursday Funnies this morning in light of the events at the Inglewood Ideal org last evening. Tony Ortega, as he always does, is keeping up with the story and you can follow the news at his blog. He does a great job of sorting the bs from the real facts. Someone being killed, wherever it occurs, is horrendous and tragic. The circumstances of this death remain unclear, and somewhat mysterious. Either the person who was shot by police is someone who had contact with scientology and was upset about something they had done or were doing, or the person had … [Read more...]

The Failed Inglewood “ideal org” Experiment

September 23, 2015 By Mike Rinder 108 Comments

Well, I guess the great social experiment of bringing scientology to the "African American cultural epicenter" has failed. Problem is that virtually everyone they could persuade to take services in this place are imports from other orgs and they repeatedly show their graduations and completions featuring a host of clearly non-locals from CC Int and elsewhere (see latest example below). The strategy of opening Harlem and Inglewood took a HUGE hit with the death of Isaac Hayes. He was the impetus for these orgs even exiting in the first place as he repeatedly harangued Miscavige about the … [Read more...]

L. Ron Hubbard claims his "scientific research" proves he went to heaven. He also opines how #scientology must replace the "false Gods" of #christianity and other religions. It's one of his truly unhinged scribblings that they don't want people to see.

So many people expected that #GhislaineMaxwell would walk free from this trial, but the story told by @BradEdwards_Esq in Relentless Pursuit reveals exactly how she and Epstein worked together. It's a shocking and compelling read. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Relentless-Pursuit-Victims-Jeffrey-Epstein/dp/1471195317/ref=monarch_sidesheet https://twitter.com/BBCWorld/status/1476458297897201667

Watch #TheDeepEnd on Hulu. Fascinating 4 part doc study of cult leader @_tealswan by Jon Kasbe and @BitsSola. Also listen to interview by @sarahjedmondson and @nippyames on @alittlebitculty podcast. Cult leaders are all cut from the same cloth. My take: https://www.mikerindersblog.org/off-the-deep-end/
