Terra Cognita is back with another thought provoker... Exchange...or Scientology: Must Be Contributed To L. Ron Hubbard wrote that there were four types of exchange. The lowest and most undesirable of these was criminal exchange in which people take without giving anything in return. A classic example is the thief. The second type is partial exchange, where you order the world's strongest widget and it breaks the first time you try to use it. The third form is equal exchange. I give you a loaf of bread; you give me three dollars. I work at Jabberworks Computers; they pay me a monthly … [Read more...]
Danish Kids in Danger
Something needs to be done about this. Apparently Danish schools believe their children are going to be educated by hearing a lecture from the DSA and watching "An Introduction to Scientology"... This would be like "educating" children about child sex abuse by having them attend a briefing by a representative of NAMBLA. If you are in Denmark, perhaps you can do something about this. Unless these kids are provided a balanced perspective with all the information, this may result in them being lured into scientology sometime in the future. And while we are here, those stats are nothing … [Read more...]
Scientology Fake Photo Shoot
They actually sent this out. Perhaps the most blatant admission ever that their photo ops are staged fake news. No doubt this photo (if they actually got anyone there) will be touted as evidence of how booming things are with “10x the number of graduates at ASHO” or some other blatant lie. What is so amazing is that the participants become willing partners in the deception, almost proud that they are helping to show the world how scientology is expanding. … [Read more...]
Clear on the 1st Dynamic? I Think Not
Our old friend Terra Cognita has provided another thought-provoking essay. Clear on the 1st Dynamic? I Think Not When people weren’t going “Clear” during Scientology auditing, L. Ron Hubbard—or someone within the church; I don’t know who—decided that pre-OT processing only cleared people on the First Dynamic. “Clears” were told that they no longer had their “own reactive mind.” In other words, people who’d been audited on Dianetics and the Grades were now superhuman and self-determined, but still screwed up on their other seven Dynamics. Apparently, seven-eighths of their problems and hang-up … [Read more...]
Hiding
Terra is back with another thought-provoking essay. Hiding I am wary of leaders who don’t show their faces in public. Since they didn’t assume their lofty positions by being shy, I assume they’re hiding something. The higher their standing, the more dirty little secrets they need to keep buried—and the more suspicious I become of their motives. Down the Rabbit Hole Ron Hubbard started down this road to reclusive behavior not long after Dianetics was disparaged by the mainstream health industries in the middle of last century. He lectured to dedicated followers via courses … [Read more...]
A Message from Leah Remini to Scientology Operatives
Dear OSA, OSA operatives, paid off sleazy PI’s and lawyers who are bought off by Scientology, I know you are reading this because you scour our instagrams, FB Pages and twitter feeds all day and night. I also understand you are bound to follow the writings of L. Ron Hubbard which require you to discover what someone considers valuable and attack it, to "fight on the basis of total attrition of the enemy" and treat those who speak the truth about you as "Fair Game." But you should also know that what you are doing, including: -- the legal threats -- paying off family members with t … [Read more...]
Clearwater Follies
Leah and I were speaking with our old friend Mark Bunker, who was telling us about the injunction scientology obtained against him and other members of the Lisa McPherson Trust back in 1998. Amazingly, scientology still seeks to enforce this injunction against him to this day – its language prevents him from protesting in front of some specified scientology buildings and from coming within 10 feet of any scientologist (it’s a mystery how he is supposed to know who is or isn’t a scientologist…) but they tried to get him thrown out of his condo because a scientologist lived next door, and pull … [Read more...]
Groups, Collaboration, and the Bank
I know there are some withdrawal symptoms accompanying the end of the Sunday Serial. To help, here is another of Terra's signature essays. Groups, Collaboration, and the Bank In Keeping Scientology Working, L. Ron Hubbard wrote, “The common denominator of a group is the reactive mind. Thetans without banks have different responses. They only have their banks in common. They only agree on bank principles. Person to person the bank is identical.” I don’t think so. The common denominator of a group is not the reactive mind. Such a notion is not only a gross … [Read more...]
Make Money (So We Can Sucker You In)…
Companion to the post of a couple of days ago Make More Money (So We Can Take It)... This is another twist on the "prosperity doctrine" that informs everything in scientology. Creflo Dollar and his prosperity theology have nothing on scientology. This one is a new approach. Offer to teach "wogs" how to make money, and use that as bait to get them to do a Comm Course! Scientology: It's all about the money. … [Read more...]
“Scn US Senator Perhaps”
This email arrived with me yesterday about a guy running for the US Senate in California, letting scientologists know to vote for him because "he is a Scn. on ASHO lines." They want to get the word out that he is a scientologist, so I am giving them a hand. His website gives no indication of any scientology affiliation, though this cryptic entry under his "Political Biography" sounds awfully like one of those scientology Police Activities League buy-offs that happen all too often in Hollywood: Offered financial support to Police Support Youth Programs to aid in drug programs with … [Read more...]
