Scientology often claims that it does NOT require money before auditing services will be provided. Anyone who has ever been in a scientology org KNOWS this is a lie. But scientology continues to make this claim, because it makes them sound "humanitarian" and beneficent. It is also one of the lies they foisted off on the IRS, claiming a large percentage of their services were delivered "free of charge." Of course, they did not mention that "free services" are "introductory" services, the ones designed to get you in the door and sitting in front of a "registrar" who gets you to pay for your … [Read more...]
Inside the Mind of a Scientologist
This recent email gives some interesting insight into the mind of a bubble-dwelling scientologist. From: Francis Weilgart Sent: Thursday, May 17, 2018 To: YOU Subject: Excellent patter for starting a conversation At Venice Beach on Sunday I went up to some dozens of folks and said, "I have an excellent thought for the day." 9 times out of 10 they wanted to hear it. (My predict on how ready anyone is to receive comm is quite good.) "The most basic art form is a beautiful life... as a work of art." "So you create your life as an art form. More fundamental than music, painting, a … [Read more...]
A History of Man
In one of his more famous brags about his research and discoveries, L. Ron Hubbard wrote the following in the introduction to his bizarre 1951 book History of Man. This is a cold-blooded and factual account of your last sixty trillion years. The test of any knowledge is its usefulness. Does it make one happier or more able? By it and with it, can he better achieve his goals ? This is useful knowledge. With it the blind again see, the lame walk, the ill recover, the insane become sane and the sane become saner. By its use the thousand abilities Man has sought to recover become his once … [Read more...]
Massive International Expansion Lies
From the latest edition of Source magazine, the official magazine of the "international spiritual headquarters" of scientology. You can see they are making a big deal about their new "7.5 foot diameter world map" with "12-sided polygon locator pinpoints." As always, scientology seem to impress themselves by talking about the size of their maps or details of their toys. It's as gauche as someone telling you "I have 7,000 square feet of hand-made silk rugs in the entrance hall of my 40,000 square foot home -- and you paid for it." This magnificent new map is apparently adjacent to "Embassy … [Read more...]
The Big Lie Rolls On
This is one of the more amazing pieces of bubble-think... It was sent to me for the Thursday Funnies, but this little piece of Facebook genius deserves its own post. What a HUGE accomplishment this is -- they got 2 new people doing OCA's! The Cult Shopping Network is clearly flooding the orgs and missions with curious people. OMG, 2 OCA's is a "Win, win, win." If that is true, and these people are not overwhelmed with new public, then the CSN is a complete failure. But even more interesting: Sunland/Tujunga, according to Lydia Hopwood, consists of 30% scientologists. The … [Read more...]
How To Handle Enemies L. Ron Hubbard Style
I came across one of L. Ron Hubbard’s gems again recently, and it’s worthy of noting newly. As you read this, remember, scientologists are not supposed to think about, interpret or alter the words of L. Ron Hubbard. They are to be read, understood and applied. There is a common refrain in scientology: "What do your materials state?" which is the response to any question or confusion about anything Hubbard said or spoke. (The even more common precursor is “What would LRH do?”) If you cannot repeat what the materials state verbatim (or close to it), you are required to find the word you did … [Read more...]
Boasts of Scientology Part 2
The next two pages of the Freedom propaganda mag, following yesterday's post. The claims are just as absurd. 210 countries are home to scientology organizations and other assorted nobody knows-what-they-are things. The fact is that scientology has official CHURCHES OF SCIENTOLOGY (except in countries where they are forbidden to claim they area church) in a grand total of 30 countries around the world. This is the same 30 countries that they have had official churches in for the last 20 or so years, with the additions of Ireland and Taiwan. They try to fudge it by adding on some … [Read more...]
Thursday Funnies
Not surprisingly, this week's funnies are dominated by an apparently endless stream of hype for the "milestone of milestones" - the HSN of cults. Scientology TV A spiritual awakening? They actually think canned Infomercial matter could awaken anyone spiritually? That's how out of touch they are. 150 "confirmeds" That means 50 will show up for the biggest, bestest and most important event EVER! In Chicago. Celebrate with "local non-profits" WTH Fdn, Narconon, CCHR, Youth for Human Rights and the other scientology front groups wanting your … [Read more...]
Why People Stick Around as Long as They Do
It's SaTerraDay! It is also the day for the Aftermath Meet Up in downtown Clearwater at 5pm. Not sure if we will be in any shape to be doing a posting tomorrow morning, so if there is nothing, don't be alarmed it will be for a good reason. Spent a great evening with Aaron and Heather Smith-Levin, Marc and Claire Headley, Nathan Rich, Tara Reile and Mary and David Kahn last night as a pre-event warm-up. Hope to be meeting with many more people this evening! Some are flying from out of town -- two notables include the wonderful Len Zinberg and the next Mayor of Hemet, Erin … [Read more...]
Two Main Types of Ex-Scientologists
It's SaTerraDay -- yay! Two Main Types of Ex-Scientologists There are two main types of ex-Scientologists: Type 1: Those that still believe in the tech. Type 2: Those that don’t. Not Written in Stone Are these generalities? Yes. Are there gradient variations and differences within each group? Absolutely. Do people waffle? All the time. If labeling people was good enough for L. Ron Hubbard, please allow me to indulge in a bit of pigeonholing, myself. LRH preached that his theories were one hundred percent correct and workable all the time. I fully admit that my words are biased o … [Read more...]
