Flag OTC Minutes

February 11, 2018 By Mike Rinder 107 Comments

Some epic news hot off the press from the mighty Flag OT Committee...   Fundraising, fundraising and more fundraising. Orlando NOW has 35 staff. Wow! And they are "doing very well on recruiting."  Once again, scientology discloses the fact they are spending tens of millions of dollars for a building for people that do not exist. 35 staff (and you can bet this figure is bs as EVERY figure ever presented by scientology is ALWAYS bs) is supposed to be the size of a Mission. They have another 165 staff to go to be SH size and a real "ideal org." They're not even 20% of the way … [Read more...]

The Shrinking World of Scientology

February 1, 2018 By Mike Rinder 141 Comments

It is hard to imagine 10 or 20 years ago that the March 13th event in LA would NOT be held in the Shrine Auditorium. It was one of the BIG events that was always held in a big venue. Back in the day, there were also big events for Auditor's Day and May 9th held at the Shrine Auditorium. The Auditor's Day event was first to go. It was too close to the IAS event and too soon after the Maiden Voyage -- AND it was not a big money-maker and celebrating auditors was not high on Miscavige's priority list. First Dear Leader stopped attending, then it became a "local" event (ie no central … [Read more...]

Scientology “Facts”

January 22, 2018 By Mike Rinder 79 Comments

This is a page from the Int Scientology News "New Years" edition where they repeat what was said at the New Years event for the few hundred remaining scientologists who managed to ignore the dozens of phone calls, visits, texts and emails about attending the video showing of the annual spectacle of bullshit. A big feature of every Miscavige Event is numbers. Strange numbers. Weird "factoids" that you cannot wrap your mind around as you sit at the event. Marc Yager ("Cueball" to Miscavige, who loves calling people by derogatory names) is the master of this technique. It's an official … [Read more...]

No Hype is Too Much

January 2, 2018 By Mike Rinder 113 Comments

This is what the bubble-dwellers experienced on New Years Eve -- being stuffed with bs like a Christmas goose. While the rest of the world takes a moment to wish everyone good luck and good cheer, peace and happiness, scientology takes the opportunity to pat itself on the back and reaffirm it's importance and how it is saving all mankind. The claims and hype are quite astonishing: It's a spiritual transcendence a phenomenon more pride more inspiration more achievements the experience is electric future generations will look back in awe at the achievements we continue to … [Read more...]

The Bestest, Most Monumentalest Event Ever Ever

June 10, 2017 By Mike Rinder 98 Comments

It's Saturday, it must be time to hear from Terra Cognita again... The Bestest, Most Monumentalest Event Ever Ever The longer I stayed in Scientology, the more I hated going to events. When I first got into Scientology at my local org, events meant everyone getting off course to listen to a Scientology celebrity talk about a piece of LRH tech. And we students weren’t even expected to make up the time! The speakers were spontaneous, funny, and full of “ARC.” They encouraged feedback from the audience and everyone had a great time. Nothing was scripted. The events weren’t filmed. There … [Read more...]

March 13th and International Scientology No News

April 12, 2016 By Mike Rinder 137 Comments

Had a chance to look through the latest International Scientology News -- the propaganda piece sent out after each international event to re-hype the event hype. Based on this magazine alone, things are going to hell in a hand-basket in the shrinking bubble of scientology. What is fascinating about it is what is does NOT contain. It is virtually "expansion news free." Nothing that reflects the "massive international expansion" Miscavige is constantly mentioning. And all I did was flick through the pages and look at the pictures, I could not bring myself to read any of the drivel. Here … [Read more...]

Thursday Funnies

April 7, 2016 By Mike Rinder 86 Comments

The Old Guard Generally reflecting the state of scientology, the old guard is pretty much all there is left...   Fatten them up before the slaughter... Or: You gotta use some cheese to catch the mouse     It's a Mega New Status! Really?   Truth in Advertising For once. Really it should say the Brave or the Stupid.   Ideal Org -- What do you get? Big old empty rooms that look like sets out of a scientology tech film.   An Island of Sanity If you define sanity as a graveyard -- of course nobody ever argues or questions in … [Read more...]

Still Milking It After All These Years

March 19, 2016 By Mike Rinder 112 Comments

There is apparently no limit to the hype. "You gotta see this to believe it... The FUTURE really is now. Seriously? And what do you have to see that is the future now? SPOILER ALERT! Miscavige announcing the "imminent" opening of KCET. You got it right. Things have gotten so bad that he is AGAIN announcing the imminent opening of KCET. It's already been shown and endlessly pitched and the "Big News" for the March 13th event was something that is "going to be" done. In fact, if you look at the scientology.org website, it tells you everything you need to know and even … [Read more...]

The Birthday Event

March 12, 2016 By Mike Rinder 166 Comments

Things seem to be falling apart at the seams in LA. Traditionally, there was a single March 13th event for all of the LA area -- including Orange County and the Valley. It used to be held at the Shrine Auditorium, but that became embarrassing as they couldn't even fill the lower level, let alone the upper. So, they moved it to the Dolby Theater. Capacity 3400. Now they have shifted it to the "Ray Dolby Ballroom." Capacity 2000. But it seems they are having inordinate difficulty filling even that venue (this is not much bigger than the Flag auditorium...) in the home of the … [Read more...]

Best Wise Convention Ever

June 6, 2015 By Mike Rinder 98 Comments

Try to ignore the typos, spellos and grammatical hash in this email if you can. The milestone news is that they are going to hold the biggest and "most impacting" [sic] WISE convention ever (of course). They are going to have 1000 people there (not an ice cream's chance in hell of that happening). But here is the REALLY big news. Because demand is so high, they are "reducing the prices".  Now that makes sense. So much demand we are reducing prices. Really, they are using "scientology math" or "scientology speak" where reducing the prices actually means, as explained in the next … [Read more...]
