Desperation in Auckland
The desperation emanating from the "ideal org" in Auckland is palpable. A bunch of Sea Org members have been dispatched on mission to try and get the org done, get their filing backlogs handled and recruit enough staff to have at least one person covering reception full time. A measure of how desperate they are is who they are reaching out to try and recruit. Perhaps the most notorious (and effective) critic of scientology in Australia is Paul Schofield. Had a chance to look through the latest International Scientology News -- the propaganda piece sent out after each international event to re-hype the event hype. Based on this magazine alone, things are going to hell in a hand-basket in the shrinking bubble of scientology. What is fascinating about it is what is does NOT contain. Atlanta Ribbon Yanking Panic
They are terrified they won't have enough people to put in the shots of Dear Leader yanking the ribbon in Atlanta. Even though the call has gone out to every org in the US that they had better show up, they are making sure there will be "bodies in the shop" by shipping "OT Ambassadors" from Flag. This is a luxury trip -- driving through the night from midnight til 9am to get them there in time for the video shoot. Smile for the cameras. Stand around for a few hours. Tour the empty building.
