Another in the continuing series of observations by our friend Terra Cognita - still not declared. And in my view, this may be his best yet. This is perhaps the single biggest glaring irrationality in scientology. TC's previous posts: Am I Still A Thetan?, To Be Or Not To Be, An Evaluation of Scientology, Fear: That Which Drives Scientology and Justification and Rationalization. Communication in Scientology…Or Not LRH wrote extensively on communication. He wrote volumes. He lectured extensively on the subject. The man was all about communication. One of the first steps in Sci … [Read more...]
Dan Koon Responds
Dan Koon responds to the letter his ex-wife sent to ABC 20/20. A copy of her letter is below with Dan's commentary in red. Because of my familiarity with some of the matters raised in her letter, I have added my own comments which are in blue italics. Knowing Sue for more than 30 years, I am positive that she cringed the first time she saw this letterhead April 27, 2016 This was mailed 2 days before the 20/20 show aired on ABC. Another perfect example of the Int/Gold Base’s set-in-stone operating motto: “Too little, too late.” John Bentley ABC 20/20 47 W … [Read more...]
Am I Still A Thetan?
Another thought provoking article from Terra Cognita. Now that I’m Out of Scientology…Am I Still a Thetan? I grew up in an atheist home where religion was the “opiate of the people” and spiritual beings were the stuff of fairy tales. I kept these beliefs to myself when I first walked in the front doors of the local Org. A few years later, George Lucas had discovered the Force, and I began to accept that there was more to me than my corporeal self. Maybe there weren’t enough gray cells inside my noggin to hold all my memories after all. The majority of people on the planet believed they wer … [Read more...]
To Be Or Not To Be
Another in the series of posts from our special correspondent, now known as Terra Cognita. See earlier articles: An Evaluation of Scientology, Fear: That Which Drives Scientology and Justification and Rationalization. To Be or not to Be: Is Scientology Worth Saving? I recently helped my dad fill out a medical level-of-care form. Choices ranged from doing everything humanly possible to keep the patient alive, to “do not resuscitate.” Followers of Scientology face similar choices. Lots would like to keep the church alive. Many of you reading this have chosen to step away from the pat … [Read more...]
Thursday Funnies
OMG -- It's Yuuuge Kevin and Barbara Wilson, executives extraordinaire are going to be the new ED and D/ED Valley. Wonder what is going to happen to their incredible WISE business. Anyone know the protocol for selling a Mark Super 7? Not really. Probably better off just throwing it in the trash as it is now worthless. Scheduling problems They seem to be constantly changing these events -- when nobody RSVP's that they will be attending, they just change the date. And apparently none of these EVER have anyone RSVP. It's … [Read more...]
Justification and Rationalization
Another thoughtful piece from our Special Correspondent who brought us An Evaluation of Scientology and Fear: That Which Drives Scientology. Justification and Rationalization in Scientology Rationalization of doctrine occurs in all religions. From the moment one is introduced to the creeds and canons of a church, he’s forced to make sense out of the illogical and absurd if he has any chance at salvation. Scientology is no exception. Making excuses for material that doesn’t make sense, but which one is expected to accept as true, becomes a way of life for church members. This is e … [Read more...]
More SuMP Insanity
Tony Ortega has some excellent material on his blog today about the opening of the SuMP. A few other/additional/redundant thoughts on this subject. First, one of the more insane emails ever to come my way, Pasadena org sent this out at 8 pm on Friday night to let everyone know to come to the org at 7am the following morning because "course starts at 8am" -- the most important thing about the most important event in the history of scientology, in fact the entire universe, is to keep those student points up and NOT MISS A MINUTE of your "enhancement"! Of course, the email also contains … [Read more...]

Jazz potluck? And an R&B Dutch treat. A Rock and Roll buffet and an orchestral bake-off. Back by popular demand Try lip syncing this while you are playing your air guitar with no socks on: "Loser" (it's a song by Beck) Flag is getting personal And they are "quite literally" going to rock your world with a video. OMG. And the D/CO Flag is personally inviting you because Flag is now 100% accessible -- providing you have enough money... They keep getting weirder and weirder. The video is "unheard of" (?) Maybe because nobody is listening, … [Read more...]
An Evaluation Of Scientology
This was sent to me by someone who wishes to remain anonymous at this time. She is not declared, and has recently been on org lines. I find it interesting to read the observations of someone who has been inside orgs VERY recently. I come to a different conclusion about what must be done, but I agree with many of these observations. I have stated a number of times my belief that all dianetics and scientology materials should be made available online for free and the subject will live or die based purely on its workability and value to mankind). It is somewhat reassuring to know there … [Read more...]
PTS Type III
Here is an interesting document sent to me by an old friend. It concerns the handling of "PTS Type 3's" or "the insane." These are people that according to the scientology definition are being negatively effected by "apparent SP's" all over the world, or even ghosts and demons. In scientology someone "going Type 3" means having a psychotic break. I am sure this issue is otherwise available on the internet and I am not "revealing" it for the first time. Though it is certainly the first time it has appeared on this blog. And I havent seen it for 20 years or more. I recall reading it when I … [Read more...]
