Typical scientology. There is a situation in the US with a shortage of infant formula. An opportunity to move in with some Hubbard "tech" -- the "barley formula." I hope nobody falls for this. Hubbard claims it is a formula used by the Romans 2200 years ago -- that "barley sustained the Roman legions" and that this concoction, featuring a liberal dose of Karo syrup (cornstarch syrup) and cow's milk is better than breast milk and commercial baby formula. Here is the page giving the ingredients and method of preparation from the Scientology Handbook. Like much of the … [Read more...]
Apartheid Alive and Well in Scientology?
I know I have commented on this before, but it never ceases to amaze me how the Advanced Org for the CONTINENT of Africa serves exclusively the tiny minority of the citizenry who are white. The photos of the graduates below are not cherry-picked. They are what is attached to the email of the "latest AOSH Africa completions." It is the same every time they send these out. Of course, dianetics and scientology from the outset have been white-centric (probably not a word, but it seems appropriate). Just look at the earliest photos of dianeticists and scientologists gathered anywhere and … [Read more...]
Through the Bubble – Lili’s Adventures in Scientologyland Part 14
This is the fourteenth installment of the account of a journey into and out of scientology -- written by one of our long-term readers. I hope you enjoy her insights, humor and style. Lili also provided a glossary of terms. Through the Bubble - Lili’s Adventures in Scientologyland This is my quirky recollection of events. Others may remember things differently. Lingo is italicized on the first mention, capitalized after that. I’ve compressed complexities in the cult to simplify your reading pleasure. Part 14 Let’s Get Deadly Bored, I Mean Serious and Clear … [Read more...]
Maiden “Voyage”?
We recently saw how the May 9th celebration has been turned into a mention at graduation in local orgs. It used to be an "international event" held at the Shrine Auditorium. Now apparently the "Maiden Voyage" is being "celebrated" as a "Taking it to New Heights" (Lows?) "festival" at CC Int. One has to wonder whether the paranoia of Miscavige is dictating how everything is being conducted in scientology? Is there really not going to be a "Maiden Voyage" again this year? If it's not the fear of COVID dictating events, it's probably the fear of being served in lawsuits that is driving his … [Read more...]
Regraded Being
Thursday Funnies
May 9th Reduced to a "special graduation" Back in the day it was a major event held at the Shrine Auditorium Ideal Scenes and Ideal Orgs It's pretty ideal in the world of scientology. At least in their minds. Well, isn't that theta He learned how to be "light and gentle" on the PTS/SP Course. Must be a different course than I ever saw. Still Going Still a "Class VIII" Still a rimless zero Trying a new angle for some PR points Pretty soon we will be reading that the VM's have "formed a partnership" … [Read more...]
The Continuing Saga of St Louis’ “Not Ideal” Org
An update from some ex-scientologists familiar with the failed efforts to make St. Louis "ideal." You may recall, we heard from them back in 2019 -- which I covered in a blog post St Louis Blues -- An Epic Ideal Org Scam Note: the other two orgs mentioned in that first para are still not close to becoming ideal either... And also remember, this is the organization that boasts they have the ONLY workable "management technology" on earth. Here is the update from our observers. The Church of Scientology bilked $17 million out of Scientologists to fund the St Louis … [Read more...]
Scientology Anti-Semitism Hypocrisy — Using the ADL
This is a couple of weeks old now, but the hypocrisy remains current and fresh... Scientology seeking to gain credibility for itself by pretending to align with the ADL. Of course, scientology CLAIMS they "stand with the ADL" and are champions who fight at every turn against anti-Semitism. But what is the real story? Scientology fully supports the Nation of Islam, and presented its highest recognition (the "IAS Freedom Medal") to Tony Muhammad (he now goes by Abdul Malik Sayyid Muhammad). This is very well documented in numerous previous articles on this blog (and elsewhere) … [Read more...]
Dianetics the Modern Science of Mental Health
On this day in 1950, "Book One" was published. It seems an appropriate day to remember some of the claims Hubbard made in his lengthy explanation of his "discoveries" that had been thoroughly tested... Let's start with the most infamous: Clears of course DO get colds. They also get cancer, suffer heart attacks, strokes, pancreatitis and all sorts of other ailments. But this statement is still in the current edition of book. As for the 270 cases, this is of course also a total fabrication. Obviously. No "laboratory fact" confirms this lie because it is provably false. … [Read more...]
