A few random thoughts about the Leah Remini media storm that is growing by the hour. ♦ The response from Katie Holmes was all class. Back during the frenzy that surrounded her split from TC and subsequent divorce I commented that she had handled the whole thing with skill and aplomb. Now you can add grace to that list. Some have criticized her for not saying enough. I applaud her for saying anything at all. She had no need. There has been a massive amount of media following the ABC 20/20 interview with Leah on Friday evening. One of the more complete stories covering the show was in USA Today (not normally their forte...) and within that story (and some others) they link to the Scientology response they regurgitated on Friday night (regurgitated because it is virtually the same statement they have made to every piece of media coverage since 2007). It's Halloween and the IAS Event all mixed up. There's a reg waiting for you behind every gravestone. Freddy Kruger and the Texas Chainsaw guy are movie characters. Those IAS regges are real. My old friend, Andy Porter, sent me this article. It's an eerie look at scientology from a different perspective. What I find especially interesting is the fact that this gave rise to an outraged piece in the New York Times, yet, as you will see, the conduct they deemed worthy of a lengthy article pales in comparison to scientology.
