Scientology and its front organizations (like Narconon and CCHR) live in a world disconnected from reality. They seem oblivious to the absurdity of things they say and positions they take. Narconon is now beginning to sound like prohibitionists, targeting county music for "romanticizing alcohol." Unfortunately, while contemporary country music stars continue to produce great music year after year, there are increasing incidences of romanticizing alcohol in country music lyrics, romanticizing it, glamorizing it, or even construing alcohol with happy times, carefree adventures, and … [Read more...]
CCHR Racist Hypocrisy
In every aspect of scientology, the hypocrisy runs VERY deep. They accuse others of "hate" while perpetrating it themselves. The rail against human trafficking while engaged in human trafficking of Sea Org members every day. They shout loudly about anti-Semitism while supporting and promoting some of the loudest anti-Semites. And here they are again. Complaining that the APA's "recent apology for its support of structural racism understates psychiatry’s racial human rights abuses and its long history of instigating racism..." CCHR thinks their apology is inadequate. Frankly, … [Read more...]
Scientology Human Rights – An Oxymoron
Scientology attempts to position itself as defenders of Human Rights. They put out a constant flow of propaganda intended to create that image through their front groups, photo ops, slickly produced videos and booklet handouts. They try as often as possible to hitch their PR wagon to legitimate organizations and individuals as they are doing in this event. I wonder if Harry Cohen, Hillsborough County Commissioner has any idea what he is endorsing? Or Jeannette Matta or Rainey Nave for that matter.... And you have to question whether the Children's Board Board members have any idea … [Read more...]
Germany on Scientology
i Germany has just released its annual "Constitution protection report" for 2020. The last section of the report concerns scientology. One of our readers helped us with a translation: "Scientology Organization" (SO) The "Scientology Organization" (SO) intends to establish a worldwide "Scientology Society". The number of members in Germany in 2020, as in 2019, was around 3,500 people. In the year under review, SO online activity increased again as the otherwise usual information stands in cities throughout Germany could not be operated due to the corona pandemic. The SO … [Read more...]
“Secular” Scientology
Scientology seeks to infiltrate various parts of society with "LRH Tech," What is sincerely held "religious belief" and "scripture" inside scientology, is transformed into "secular", commercial "technology" in the scientology front groups. Hubbard insisted these organizations -- like Narconon -- be "secular" for one reason. To be able to get grants from the government. Due to the First Amendment, the government is restricted from funding religious organizations. There are PLENTY of religious based drug rehabs, education programs and others. But Hubbard, the staunch opponent … [Read more...]
Foundation for a Drug Free World — Scientology Front Group
One of scientology's most successful front groups has roped in another beauty contest winner, and hit upon a new way of gaining apparent credibility. Foundation for a Drug Free World has had some success in infiltrating a number of organizations, particularly through the work of Meghan Fialkoff. She has been covered a number of times at Tony Ortega's blog -- one article here. She is a star in the world of scientology. She was awarded an IAS Freedom medal. She is featured on scientology tv and in Freedom magazine. Many of the people she gets on board have no idea their participation … [Read more...]
The House of Cards is Collapsing
"Freedom" magazine recently put out this tweet: Curious (?), I clicked on the link. This is what it takes you to -- an article reporting on their supposed accomplishments in 2017! For the "largest private relief force on earth" it is just a little strange that they have nothing to report about for 3 years? No disasters in the intervening period is not the reason -- remember the wildfires in California? The Hurricanes in Louisiana? Just this year.... The real reason for no update is no action. This is a reflection of the fact there are no international … [Read more...]
Scientology is “Fun”
STAAD puppet Rodger Clark has produced a "sequel" to his earlier effort claiming scientology is "fun." He claims his earlier piece "struck a chord" with readers... Apparently the reader(s) is me. Just me. I had responded to his "Scientology is Freedom, Freedom is Fun," with my take on his assertions "Scientology is a Happy Place." It seems Rodger was not too happy about what I had to say, as he quickly launches into a smear of me. Not much "fun" or "happiness" on display from Rodger, just a whole lot of name-calling. He gets underway with this (after his happy … [Read more...]
The Hypocrisy of Scientology Knows No Bounds
Once again, scientology demonstrates "do as I say, not as I do" -- following the well-trod path of founder, L. Ron Hubbard. Here again we see the so-called "Stand League" (I prefer to call it by its true acronym, STAAD -- "scientologists taking action against discrimination") railing against anti-Semitism in one of their recent blog posts. This is their attempt to present themselves as champions of religious freedom and speech by taking a sure-to-gain-agreement stance that anti-Semitism is to be deplored. How brave. How noble. Old Martin Landon has really gone out on a limb … [Read more...]
Do They Have Any Idea?
o This promo piece just came in... You have to wonder if these people have a clue what they are supporting? The two beauty queen pageanters seem to be more of what we have seen in the past. Meghan Fialkoff somehow managed to get her foot in the door of this world and there have been a few examples who have been called out on Tony Ortega's blog. These beauty queens are willing dupes looking for a "cause" they can say they support to sound good on their resume. Being anti-drug is a popular one. The scientology front groups make it easy for them and provide … [Read more...]
