How You Can Help End The Pandemic

June 6, 2020 By Mike Rinder 45 Comments

Take a wild guess what the answer to this question is: "How you can help end the pandemic?" If you guessed "Give us your money" you just won yourself a one year free subscription to Impact magazine. If you guessed "Hand out our propaganda booklets" you won a one year free subscription to Freedom magazine. And if you answered both you win the Grand Prize -- a commendation for your file. They have 160,000 booklets they still need to distribute. Some in-house printing facility (Bridge or the Central Promo Center or something) has gotten their stats up selling these things at a profit to the … [Read more...]

Oh Canada

May 17, 2020 By Mike Rinder 69 Comments

Here's some news from Canada. It's a pretty good snapshot of scientology across the planet. The hype about Extension Courses is going to come back to bite them in the butt once the lockdown is over. "Intensive gains" from reading books. Who needs auditing? If this is so good, why would anyone ever need to go into an org again? It's going to be interesting to watch how many people use this as an excuse to avoid coming into orgs in the future. It is pretty funny that after two months they are still "accelerating towards 10X."  With the staff and Sea Org pretty much idle, they are … [Read more...]

Freewinds Runs Aground

May 9, 2020 By Mike Rinder 71 Comments

They were having a rough time of it even before the pandemic. Lacking paying customers, they had a hard time finding money to buy fuel to move from one port to another. Now they are slipping beneath the waves with hardly a murmur... Their latest promotional piece "Making the IMpossible possible" is offering a "convention" 4 months from now... They don't have people coming for OT VIII (the ONLY feeder for that is Flag and completions on OT VII -- if they get one a week they are excited. If half of them went on to OT VIII right away that would be one arrival every two weeks. And it … [Read more...]

Tampa “Ideal” Org and Ron’s Fiction

May 7, 2020 By Mike Rinder 42 Comments

These are the last two Tampa "ideal" "St Hill Size" "newsletters" that are sorely lacking in news. You can compare this one immediately below to the previous one that follows. They’ve only got some extension course "successes" to report, but they're promoting a different video about how viruses spread... It's pretty harmless, giving rudimentary information about bacteria and viruses, though it's oddly "scientologese" with constant reference to "the body.” What it doesn't do is explain what scientologist actually believe about illness -- that it all comes from connection to Suppressive … [Read more...]

Auckland Speaks For All Scientologists…

May 6, 2020 By Mike Rinder 53 Comments

This pretty much sums up the scientology mindset on the subject of the pandemic. Not pushing Decon7 or any of the other PR lines about what they are doing to contribute with their photo ops, they talk some real scientology turkey here. Explaining that people are "restimulated.” Forget the virus, this is their reactive minds, the ones they will eventually realize they are "mocking up" that is causing them to die. The only solution to this, the real problem, is to train more auditors and join staff. This is literally the answer to EVERYTHING on planet earth. I wonder if it ever … [Read more...]

Big News from Flag!!!!

May 2, 2020 By Mike Rinder 63 Comments

Some hot off the presses "good news" from Flag in the form of an EMail from our old friend Clive Rabey. Apparently LA is "leading the way for the scientology world" with 2 OT VI Comps (meaning two new people auditing Solo NOTs) and one OT VII (Completion of Solo NOTs). Woohoo, that is mind-blowingly awesome. It is the best in the whole world. And not only that. They have 20 people "ready to arrive" once the "travel restrictions"(?) are lifted (I was unaware you could not travel between LA and Tampa?) And this is "totally showing the way how to turn this current crazy social motion out … [Read more...]

Disaster Capitalism Double Whammy

April 28, 2020 By Mike Rinder 15 Comments

While the IAS is soliciting money for "VM campaigns" and "COVID-19 relief", the VM's are sending out their own pitch to collect hygiene items.  Makes you wonder what the IAS money is for? This flier is pretty bizarre. They have taken an old flier from a hurricane relief drive and repurposed it for their "Pandemic" relief by including toilet paper in the list of donations requested. Note it is still copyrighted 2019. I wonder what "travel size" toilet paper is?       … [Read more...]

Some More Scientology Pandemic Nuttiness

April 27, 2020 By Mike Rinder 60 Comments

I recently did a post about this scientologist, Dave Kushin and his crazy conspiracy theories. His nuttiness has gone from bad to worse... And then there is this, from Jim Rego, a guy who apparently had quite a following in the scientology bubble. He sends out a lot of conspiracy theory stuff and rants about the "lamestream media" etc Frankly, what these guys spout is not really more outrageous than the Xenu story or the idea that all psychiatrists are "wholetrack implanters" or that drugs stored in the "fatty tissue" can be "expelled" by sweating in a sauna. I wonder … [Read more...]

Belief v. Fact

April 21, 2020 By Mike Rinder 37 Comments

This is a well laid out, calm and informative comment that responded to a response from Aviv Bershadsky about my posting What Do Scientologists Believe about COVID-19? I also note she has some interesting thoughts about "othering" at the end which are not directed to Aviv but I kept them because I think her views on things are worth looking at. I felt it was valuable and too important to be lost as a comment to an older post. I asked the author for permission to print it and for a little information about her. Her name is Valerie Feria-Isacks and this is the short bio she sent … [Read more...]

Signs of the Times

April 20, 2020 By Mike Rinder 87 Comments

In lieu of Thursday Funnies, we have a few things that have flopped over the transom that make for entertaining reading in these strange times. If you were wondering what the Sea Org "management" people are doing (in the Continental Liaison Offices and at the Flag Bureau) this gives a clue. The "managers" in EUS are "delivering" extension courses. With the orgs having little or no income, these management units are really struggling to come up with a few dollars for food. Their income, meager as it is, comes from the orgs. When the orgs make 0, the SO Units make 0. The difference is, in … [Read more...]

1. Longtime Scientologist Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson) slamming "Going Clear," gives you some insight into Scientology talking points and how people like her remain trapped in Scientology.

Cartwright has donated over 20 million dollars to Scientology.

Yes, twenty.
