For 20 years, they have been pushing the Sisyphean task of getting "10,000 onto or through Solo NOTs." It's all based on the LRH quote cited at the top of the issue below first published in April 2002 (see post giving the full content of the issue that established this goal): Based on this sliver of dubious information supported by not a single fact, the big "10,000 game" began. Way back in 2002 Solo NOTs had been around for 15 years or so, and they had not cracked the halfway mark. By 2014 they had plodded along to 6433: 10,000 on Solo NOTs "Update" To this day, they have … [Read more...]
Operation Clear
This comes from an old program Hubbard pushed in the 50's called "Operation Clear." These guys have resurrected it from the trashcan of history and repeat it verbatim. The claims are obviously absurd -- IQ of 135. Radiant health. Deep relaxation (whatever that means). Magnetic personality.... None of these things are necessarily true. If you were creative or vital or had a IQ before being Clear, it won't eradicate those traits. But if you didn't have them beforehand, it is highly unlikely they will be attained by going Clear. I have known a LOT of Clears in my time. Some of them are … [Read more...]
Scientology Fiction
Wait, I thought scientology was NOT fiction? The true indication of a cult of personality. Everything about the person is seen as being perfect/important/amazing. So, Hubbard's fiction is seen as the "best" and people are expected to go along to their local scientology organization and sit and listen to one of these silly stories about "Howdy" and be impressed. Impressed by what? Hubbard's talent for spinning tall tales? Like "Revolt in the Stars" (the story of Xenu he turned into a stillborn film script). Just stop and think about this for a second. It's actually creepy. How weird … [Read more...]
Scientology and Legal Conservatives
Tony Ortega wrote this piece recently, covering the scientology petition to the US Supreme Court in the Masterson civil case claiming their "First Amendment rights" are under attack because the California Appellate court ruled that its "arbitration" contracts are invalid when they commit torts against someone who is no longer part of their organization. I have warned previously about the problem with conservative judges Religious Protections Run Amok and Scientology "Arbitration": They make up the rules as they go along Once again, this problem arises. Two amicus briefs were … [Read more...]
Regraded Being
Thursday Funnies
How very appropriate Enter the world of Alice in Wonderland. Yes, it's OPEN! Not funny, sad I have not had the opportunity to read the decision. The activities of scientology are NOT beneficial to the public at large. They are only photo ops. AOSH Africa Busting open the bottom of the Bridge I wonder if Joburg or Joburg North or Pretoria (all 3 of them "ideal" orgs) have ANY customers? They don't have certs any more? Just cheesy signs they hold up... In true Chicago style... Half a dozen, tired old people sitting … [Read more...]
Scientology in Panic Mode
My book will be available in less than a month (you can pre-order it here as a hardback or audiobook) and this is obviously causing waves inside the bubble. They are scrambling to try to "do something effective" in response to the rants from Miscavige about how this book is coming and "nobody is defending him." You can always tell what has impact in the bubble by what consumes the OSA bots in their online activities. They mostly concentrate on Leah, but over the last week have ramped up their squawks focused on me. And most of them feature my family members -- brother, children and … [Read more...]
S. African Govt Paying for Auditor Training?
I certainly hope this is typical scientology hype... Is there anyone in S. Africa that can independently check these two claims.... This is the sort of thing that scientologists LOVE to latch onto. One person reads a Intro booklet about the organizing board, they are employed by the government and soon this has become "the government of Malawi is now operating on LRH Admin Tech." Or there is a photo taken of someone standing next to a police officer with a WTH booklet and "crime has been reduced by 60% in the city of Caracas as a result of the police department embracing the … [Read more...]
Through the Bubble – Lili’s Adventures in Scientologyland Part 28 The End
Again, my apologies to Lili, this was supposed to have run yesterday. This is the final chapter in the always entertaining, humorous, yet often heartbreaking story of one woman's life in scientology. It's a little longer than usual, but it's the climax to the story so I indulged Lili a bit, preferring one final chapter rather than splitting it into two. I want to personally thank Lili for taking the time to tell her story. I know it has resonated with a lot of people -- many of her experiences are "been there, done that" moments for anyone who has been in scientology. The more people who … [Read more...]
Stacy Francis Needs Your Help
Apologies to Lili and all of her regular readers: My screw up this morning. Today was supposed to be the final episode of Lili's Adventures in Scientologyland. In scientologese, I was "out of PT." Stay tuned tomorrow for the final chapter of her engaged story. Stacy Francis, one of the scientologists who publicly attacked Leah in response to The Aftermath TV show, is promoting that she is going to be creating "very incredible content" but in order to do so, she needs subscribers to her YouTube channel so she can "use YouTube studios" in Hollywood. Wonder why she has to … [Read more...]
