I came across this the other day. It is a High Winds magazine from 1995. High Winds is the "magazine of the Sea Org" and only a few were ever published, usually to commemorate "Sea Org Day". It never ceases to amaze me how overtly crazy some of Hubbard's ramblings are. Or how the clubbed seals inside the bubble proffer them as evidence of his infallible wisdom in all things. I came across this Sea Org promotional piece from 1999. It was a time when there had not been the extensive exposure of abuses of children in scientology. And thus it reflects the true attitude of scientology -- not the carefully worded utterances that are put forth these days (scientology.org is the epitome of scientology propaganda and it is the lead for most public statements now). I have written some posts about the delusion that pervades the scientology bubble. Anything possibly negative about scientology is to be avoided at all costs -- of course it is not true anyway as scientology is the "only game where everyone wins" according to L. Ron Hubbard. Tonight, at the Fort Harrison Hotel, scientology will once again try to cash in on the claimed "fact" that their founder was an accomplished War Hero and recipient of a "Purple Heart With Palm." Anyone unfortunate enough to be hoodwinked into this event with the offer of a free dinner, valet parking and some insincere flattery (insincere because scientologists believe all "wogs" are unfortunately ignorant) should take a few minutes to find out just what it is they are supporting. The “ideal” nuttiness is seeping into every corner of scientology. After 16 years of the "ideal org" program being pushed as the "solution" (and the carrot for release of "OT IX and X"), "ideal" has become a scientology catchphrase. Of cpurse, it is a successful means of getting cash, so why not? There are now ideal orgs, ideal AOs, ideal Narconons, ideal Missions, ideal accommodations and even ideal families... Here is some classic scientology “bubble-think”. It supposes that bad press equals interest in participating in scientology -- rather than the newsworthiness of exposed abuses. With this logic the Catholic Church should be excited about the “interest” shown in Catholicism with the coverage of the ongoing pedophile priest scandal.
