More Panic in Los Angeles

October 16, 2022 By Mike Rinder 20 Comments

This is clearly part of the internal propaganda campaign that Miscavige is implementing to try to paper over the large cracks in the PR dam for the scientology public. The bad news is rolling in day-by-day, especially in LA. So, time to send out the SuMP team and film "massive dissemination" happening at "Dodger Station." That they have to beg for people to show up so that their activities can be filmed is VERY telling. That their message is now "We're here" -- as in, "Not YET gone" is pretty telling also. The walls are closing in on scientology. Winter is coming. … [Read more...]

You Can “Be It All”

May 13, 2021 By Mike Rinder 6 Comments

You can almost smell the desperation in this new promotional piece. The "ideal" org in Auckland is clearly in need of staff. They have a handful and are making no progress towards achieving St Hill Size (and thus the "Make-Break point" where they actually become viable). Their newest pitch is pretty pathetic.   This is the video they are wanting everyone to watch... It's very short. And very, very amateurish. Certainly not a SuMP production. Their sales gimmick is that you don't really have to give up anything to be a staff member. You can do all these others things … [Read more...]

SuMP Wins “Awards”

October 7, 2020 By Mike Rinder 39 Comments

The latest Emmy for The Aftermath seems to have gotten under the skin of Miscavige. His multi-million dollar media "empire" (Scientology Media Productions) has been a dismal failure. No shows worth watching. No audience. Not a single Emmy nomination for anything, let alone a win. In fact, they don't even make any Emmy ballot categories to even be considered for a nomination. So we are now seeing them hyping the "dotCOMM" awards they garnered. You are no doubt wondering what a "dotCOMM" award is. Their hype machine spit out this description. So I took a quick look at the … [Read more...]

Mission Fundraising Failing

June 27, 2020 By Mike Rinder 57 Comments

Things are desperate in the scientology world. A mission in the heart of scientology's only real stronghold — Clearwater is confined strictly to Flag while there are numerous orgs in the SoCal area and more scientologists there than anywhere in the world — this Mission is halfway between Valley and Pasadena ideal orgs and a few miles from "dissemination central" at SuMP and Big Blue. If they cannot survive living off auditing and training there, it's not going to happen anywhere. And a second one came in from Brand Blvd Msn which has got to be a little bit embarrassing when you read … [Read more...]

CSN Desperate for Content

August 8, 2018 By Mike Rinder 133 Comments

Apparently the CSN is short of content to put on the air. If you have ever tried to watch it, you will know this is true. They have about 24 hours of total programming that they repeat over and over. It's almost entirely the same stuff on today as was airing the day it launched. I know many cable stations repeat some programming, usually their hit/important shows. Not everything they broadcast. CSN should have a tag line — “Groundhog Day brought to life.” So, they are asking people to send them free stuff they can air. Sort of like a "Writers of the Future" for film and documentary … [Read more...]

The CSN and Dish TV

March 19, 2018 By Mike Rinder 68 Comments

The saga of the Cult Shopping Network continues. What we are NOT seeing is shouting from the rooftops about the incredible results of this venture. So far we have been regaled with the amazing feat of one woman starting an extension course after being told her illness was psychosomatic and could be cured. It's been on the air for a week now. If the hype was true, we would be seeing pictures of Introductory Courses full of people and Facebook would be filled with local scientologists boasting about how many people are in their org. Nothing in sight. Instead, they keep telling … [Read more...]

Scientology TV Fail

March 14, 2018 By Mike Rinder 96 Comments

There have been some marvelous takes on scientology tv, and I have included just a few of my favorites here. But there is a HUGE missing piece. If this is the most important and monumental thing in the history of scientology and Miscavige himself "emerged from witness protection" to introduce it, where are the other big names? THE thing that most people know about scientology, above and beyond anything else, is that it has celebrity members. And a bunch of them are even TELEVISION stars. How can scientology TV not have ANY of their celebrities participating? Not even a cameo ad? … [Read more...]

Scientology and TV

March 12, 2018 By Mike Rinder 89 Comments

Scientology is taking to the airwaves (sort of) tonight. It's interesting times. They put out a press release that resulted in this story in THR: This story highlights just a few of their problems. They have nobody willing to talk to the media, and apparently these days, nobody willing to respond in any way. Not the recipe for success in this field. Every story that mentions scientology tv is going to mention Going Clear and The Aftermath -- that favor will not be returned. Scientology TV is  a novelty that will be forgotten fast. A quick scan of the comments on this … [Read more...]

L. Ron Hubbard’s Thoughts on SuMP

February 21, 2018 By Mike Rinder 94 Comments

I was forwarded this "LRH quote" being handed out by scientology as a source of wisdom and inspiration. It did inspire me to wonder how this squares with scientology spending tens of millions of dollars to advertise on TV and even starting up their own TV station with the SuMP? Isn't scientology in direct violation of the word of Source? Aren't they, according to Him, actively participating in putting kids "in the middle of Hiroshima"? If they DON'T believe these words are true, why are they putting out something like this for all scientologists to ingest these gems handed down from … [Read more...]

Thursday Funnies

February 8, 2018 By Mike Rinder 110 Comments

The endless pitch... It's always about to happen.   Donors of a New Eternity? What happened to the old eternity?   Did you know? This "expedition" was a total catastrophic bust. But that doesn't match the scientology version in which everything Hubbard ever did was amazing...   Missed a few... Poor. Overworked. Tired. Ethics trouble. Not clear.   Exclusive (?) Briefing Why? The "latest news" is deja vu all over again. It's "coming"....   Poor suckers Every "ideal org" that struggled to raise their last dollars, and … [Read more...]

How Many Taxpayer-subsidized Mansions, Homes and Offices Does a Dead Man Need? It turns out to be a LOT when it comes to #scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. Once again, where is the #IRS? How is this a valid exempt purpose? https://youtu.be/JfmJHiGfevA via @YouTube
