Ten years ago today I married this beautiful woman. Best decision I’ve ever made. She is in all respects my better half. Not only super smart, tough and resilient, she is also kind, compassionate and caring. She is a wonderful mother, a successful businesswoman and our family’s social coordinator. Christie always puts the needs of the family first - equal parts nurse, angel, chauffeur, comforter, soccer mom and cleanup crew. Life would be empty without you honey… here’s to 10 more years! … [Read more...]
Thank You Friends
Dear Friends, Mike and I want to thank you so much for the flood of messages of love, support and encouragement that we have received since the announcement a couple days ago. Many of you have also shared your cancer survivor stories and those have been so uplifting. I’m sure you will understand that it is not possible to thank everyone personally. Thousands have reached out. Every single one of you is appreciated and we feel your love. It is inspiring. Many of our friends generously offered to help us financially. We declined, while working on a solution to fund the nec … [Read more...]
A New Challenge
Dear Friends, This is Christie, Mike’s wife, writing to share our latest news. First I want to express my deep gratitude for the support and love you’ve shown my husband throughout the years. Mike has actively shared his experience, wisdom and insights with you on his blog on an almost daily basis for many, many years. Today I have both heartbreaking and hopeful news. While Mike would not ordinarily share personal matters like this, he feels the need to let you all know what is going on and why his blog posts, appearances and YouTube presence has been erratic of late. Mike has be … [Read more...]
Scientology’s Lying Response to Masterson Conviction
Of course, following the Masterson conviction, scientology put out a statement about how they have been subjected to "prejudice" and "bigotry." Here it is, in all it's holier-than-thou sliminess, and their usual outright lies. The prosecution's introduction of religion into this trial was an unprecedented violation of the First Amendment and affects the due process rights of every American. The Church was not a party to this case and religion did not belong in this proceeding as Supreme Court precedent has maintained for centuries. The District Attorney unconscionably centered his p … [Read more...]
Justice for Danny Masterson’s Victims
At last, a measure of justice for the victims of Danny Masterson. It has been too long coming. And these women have had to endure WAY too much to get to this point. Each of them are strong beyond comprehension to have survived the ordeal they were put through: first by Masterson, then by scientology, then by law enforcement and finally having to relive the horrendous events in not just one, but two trials. If you think you have any idea the emotional, mental and physical toll this sort of experience exacts, unless you have endured it personally, you cannot know. I hope these 3 victims, … [Read more...]
Human Trafficking in Scientology
It’s ironic that Scientology tries to portray itself as fighting against human trafficking when they operate an international human trafficking enterprise. It is one of those things they do so often — present a face to the world that portrays the exact opposite of what they really are in order to deflect attention from their activities -- as in "how could a child abuser run a campaign against child abuse?" They say they’re about the spirit and not materialism. They assert they are pro-family. They proclaim they agree with Christianity. The greatest virtue is to love one’s enemies. The list g … [Read more...]
How Many Pictures of Captain Miscavige is Enough?
The latest edition of the International Scientology News magazine arrived in my mailbox, and apart from the glossy puffery and fake stats, what was most remarkable was how many times they felt the need to show Miscavige’s face. Of course, he is the focus of the cover of the magazine supposedly celebrating the birthday of L. Ron Hubbard. His plastic smile and lacquered bouffant appear 16 more times -- with 4 of these full page glamor shots, as well as the back cover taken from behind him on stage. I would be embarrassed by this level of brown-nosing, but that is not an emotion felt by s … [Read more...]
“How to Refuse Psychiatry”
This is quite surreal. Here is a scientologist, conducting a "seminar" in a scientology org, to attract interest in his services of "keeping people out of the hands of psychiatry." Like Lisa McPherson was kept out of the hands of psychiatry? There are two things about this that boggle the mind: First, every scientologist is required to sign an agreement in order to be allowed to take ANY services, that states they do NOT want to be in the hands of psychiatry and instead choose to undergo an introspection rundown. This is an excerpt from that agreement -- you can find a copy of the … [Read more...]
