Oh no, they've done it again. In their proud tradition of crowing about their amazing accomplishments, they have once again shown to the world how small they really are. Super Power was released in November 2013. Four and a half years ago. Super Power had been being hyped since 1978 when L. Ron Hubbard hisself said that it would be "available in 6 weeks"... at all St Hill organizations. Super Power was touted as THE thing that would make "planetary clearing a reality" (like everything before it, from New Era Dianetics to OT III to NOTs to KTL etc etc). But this was really GRAND … [Read more...]

Millions and Millions
They keep hyping the vital necessity of Orlando "ideal" org because there are so many tourists. They've apparently got no better reason to try and persuade people this is important. Of course, they don't mention that more people visit Los Angeles and New York each year, and they've had ideal orgs for decades. The result? Zip, nada and nothing. And even more on point, Las Vegas has almost as many vacationers, and arguably ones more susceptible to the scientology pitch than families on the way to Disney World (kids account for a good portion of that 68 million number -- there are … [Read more...]
The CSN and Dish TV
The saga of the Cult Shopping Network continues. What we are NOT seeing is shouting from the rooftops about the incredible results of this venture. So far we have been regaled with the amazing feat of one woman starting an extension course after being told her illness was psychosomatic and could be cured. It's been on the air for a week now. If the hype was true, we would be seeing pictures of Introductory Courses full of people and Facebook would be filled with local scientologists boasting about how many people are in their org. Nothing in sight. Instead, they keep telling … [Read more...]
Time, Place, Form, and Event Part 1
This is the first draft of a novel written by our old friend Terra Cognita. I am serializing it each Sunday. Terra has ran out of topics to cover in Saturday essays... at least for now. Terra welcomes all suggestions and feedback -- this is a draft -- you can note your thoughts in the comments. I think you will find this an entertaining journey and hopefully will be looking forward to the new installments (about 6 chapters) each weekend for a while. Time, Place, Form, and Event Chapter 1 I was sitting at a white plastic table with my head buried in my arms just outside … [Read more...]
CSN TV Tweets
It's Saturday morning and that usually signals another of Terra Cognita's thought-provoking essays. But I am changing things up and have a special surprise for all you Terra fans coming tomorrow and each Sunday for the foreseeable future.Tune in tomorrow to find out... So, for something of the moment, we turn to Cult Shopping Network news. Though I am blocked from experiencing the social media amazingness of scientology's online domination, some of our readers are not. Thanks to Valerie for forwarding some recent tweets that highlight the excellent reception CSN TV has received. And … [Read more...]

Thursday Funnies
Not surprisingly, this week's funnies are dominated by an apparently endless stream of hype for the "milestone of milestones" - the HSN of cults. Scientology TV A spiritual awakening? They actually think canned Infomercial matter could awaken anyone spiritually? That's how out of touch they are. 150 "confirmeds" That means 50 will show up for the biggest, bestest and most important event EVER! In Chicago. Celebrate with "local non-profits" WTH Fdn, Narconon, CCHR, Youth for Human Rights and the other scientology front groups wanting your … [Read more...]
Scientology TV Fail
There have been some marvelous takes on scientology tv, and I have included just a few of my favorites here. But there is a HUGE missing piece. If this is the most important and monumental thing in the history of scientology and Miscavige himself "emerged from witness protection" to introduce it, where are the other big names? THE thing that most people know about scientology, above and beyond anything else, is that it has celebrity members. And a bunch of them are even TELEVISION stars. How can scientology TV not have ANY of their celebrities participating? Not even a cameo ad? … [Read more...]
Ebony Awakening
Scientology is desperate. And the most desperate of them all is the Freewinds. Trying anything to get people to the home of OT VIII, whether they are ready for OT VIII or not. One of those only comes along every few weeks, hardly enough to keep 200 SO members busy, so they have to come up with other ideas to get people to come to the Freewinds to hand over their money. And what better idea could there be than an "Ebony Awakening" convention? Scientology is notoriously white. But in recent times it has used Alfraudie Johnson to cozy up to the Nation of Islam, even going so far as to … [Read more...]
Scientology and TV
Scientology is taking to the airwaves (sort of) tonight. It's interesting times. They put out a press release that resulted in this story in THR: This story highlights just a few of their problems. They have nobody willing to talk to the media, and apparently these days, nobody willing to respond in any way. Not the recipe for success in this field. Every story that mentions scientology tv is going to mention Going Clear and The Aftermath -- that favor will not be returned. Scientology TV is a novelty that will be forgotten fast. A quick scan of the comments on this s … [Read more...]
