For the record. These have been accumulating for a while. The Special Correspondent who so diligently forwards these to me noted that it is interesting to look at these over time as you can see the false promises and pitches roll out and the things that are said in March that will happen in April go by without comment and then you start seeing new targets on the same thing in June. It is truly the donkey with the carrot on a stick -- the only difference being the donkey is being ridden by vampires that inexorably suck the blood out of it, til it falls to the wayside and they jump on a new … [Read more...]
SuMP: An Update on Progress
Why am I not surprised. The mystery has been solved: How come the greatest advance in planetary dissemination in history has been unnaturally quiet? Not a single ad has appeared. The airwaves have not been flooded with all the good news about scientology. In fact, it is deafening silence from the center of the universe as we know it. Remember how much hype there was about how this was the "uncorrupted communication line to the billions" and all sorts of other vast overstatements? This is the headline and first paras of the article on scientology.org.... But the explanation of SuMP's … [Read more...]

Scientology Success?
Here is how they manufacture "success" stories in scientology... They actually send people a template on what to say! And believe me, it is a well-learned lesson in scientology that inflating your accomplishments NEVER gets you in trouble. In fact, it often results in much adulation. Understating your "accomplishments" however can be a fatal mistake. UPDATE: A Special Correspondent just sent me this which is appropriate to this post. How is it that everything is going SOOOO great and yet he is sending out emails soliciting "successes" -- why isn't this guy so busy … [Read more...]
The Merchants of Chaos
Who are the Merchants of Chaos? Scientology teaches that Suppressive Persons are Merchants of Chaos - relaying only "entheta" and generally upsetting people around them with bad news. Seems quite sensible you would not want to associate with this sort of person. And of course, L. Ron Hubbard declared the media are ALL Merchants of Chaos. A Special Correspondent sent this letter to me, pointing out just how much "bad news" the ED of St Louis is spreading around to one and all. This is of course an art mastered by the IAS through the likes of Michael Roberts and Jeff Pomerantz and the … [Read more...]
Regraded Being
Thursday Funnies
Fearless Leader? Back in action with more ridiculousness. Wee gatherings and big gatherings -- but no details about where or when. That's a secret! Highest Ever after Highest Ever Haha. If they are expanding like crazy and have all these Highest Evers, how is it possible that after 6 years as an "ideal org" they are still not SH Size. In fact, they don't even have their filing up to date! The Foundation for Planetary Clearing There are apparently 50 or more of these ideal orgs. By now something should be visible in the planetary clearing … [Read more...]
Santa Barbara Non-Org
A Special Correspondent familiar with Santa Barbara sent this to me along with some notes about the people involved. That's some real bare bones contributing. The list has shrunk since the last one. Yay! All Steve Manseau does is email stuff like invitations to poorly attended OT Committee meetings. Sokoloff's are down south FSM's getting their 10%. Tom Burton is the ED's husband. Loren is the ED now. Martinez's are hopeless koolaid drinkers. As is Jan King. OT 8. For the record she's all about telling her many Scilon friends about the latest multi-level craze. She'd get the Manseau's … [Read more...]
The Flag OT Farce
Been busy, so just a bit of a throw-away today. Was just sent the latest edition of the Flag "OT Committee" newsletter (though it contains little "news," mostly rah-rah imploring people to do something). Clearly their delusions of grandeur are reinforced each year by the "Maiden" Voyage events. Bubbles Champagne and her team returned fully replenished with hype. This mightiest of mighty forces has yet to see a done on Miami, Orlando or Puerto Rico ideal org -- let alone Tampa org's CF.... This after a dozen or more "Maiden" voyage celebrations and returning with newfound enthusiasm to … [Read more...]

Or Not, Am I Still A Thetan?, To Be Or Not To Be, An Evaluation of Scientology, Fear: That Which Drives Scientology and Justification and Rationalization. The Almighty Stat To a Scientologist, nothing is more important than statistics—or “stats” for short. LRH was all about measuring production, and all production can be measured with one stat or … [Read more...]
Sea Org Schedule
A Special Correspondent recently sent this to me. I thought it worth publishing as documentation of a published Sea Org schedule. As almost any SO member will confirm, a schedule like this is merely an ideal scenario. In practice three items are rarely adhered to: "study," "exercise time" and "securing time." Note also this issue is from 1987. Things degenerated significantly after this time. In many places (most notably the Int base) meal breaks were reduced to 15 minutes much of the time. Exercise time was canceled. And it was VERY rare after the 90's to even theoretically get 7 hours … [Read more...]
No True Scotsman
Commenter Mike Wynski linked to this article in a recent comment. I was unfamiliar with this term and found the article fascinating in light of my scientology experience. Especially in how scientology "defines" anyone who has escaped the bubble. This is an abbreviated version of the article with all links and citations removed and focused on what is relevant to the scientology experience: The No True Scotsman (NTS) fallacy is a logical fallacy that occurs when: during argument, after their favored group has been criticized, someone re-defines the group in order to deflect un … [Read more...]
