Scientology’s Disdain for Law Enforcement

March 15, 2023 By Mike Rinder 5 Comments

This is an earlier post I am updating, along with a new YouTube video today. In the wake of the Danny Masterson rape trial (soon to be retried after the jury ended up hung), many are curious about scientology's position with respect to reporting crimes to law enforcement. Scientology responded to reports they forbid this in typical fashion -- quoting the LA Times: The Church of Scientology declined to comment on the pending criminal matter, but said the religion has no policy against reporting crimes committed by Scientologists to law enforcement. “Church policy explicitly demands … [Read more...]

Did Scientology Lie? Of Course…

June 28, 2022 By Mike Rinder 21 Comments

Another of the documents from the recent FBI docs release. In September 2009, not long after the investigation began, scientology made an FOIA request to get all docs concerning any investigation of scientology. Though the originator of the request has been redacted from the letter, you can see in the accompanying fax cover sheet that this is a request from scientology. This is not a "routine" request that is filed every month. It is a request because scientology became aware of the FBI investigation. Yet, despite this, in 2013 they denied any such investigation took place … [Read more...]

The RPF Insider Part 2

June 18, 2022 By Mike Rinder 31 Comments

This is the next installment of the RPF Insider documents contained in the FBI files release. See Part 1. Our old friend Chuck Beatty added some helpful information in a comment on the first post which I include below: I’m not sure if RPF Insider ever was outed. I was in phone contact with him as he posted his series back when it posted. Telling the details in his postings is excellent. The framework, him being not actually in the RPF, but was out, and was posting like he was in it, just to goad Miscavige, was his call. (Theoretically he could have been, example, before I was gone … [Read more...]

The RPF Insider Part 1

June 15, 2022 By Mike Rinder 34 Comments

In the recent FBI Docs release, there are copies of these documents from the "RPF Insider." I had not seen them before, but they can be found on xenu.net. There are a dozen of them, and they make for interesting reading. This enormously detailed (and accurate) information about the RPF Prison Camp in Los Angeles documents the abuse dished out to members of the Sea Org as a routine. He (or she) asks that health and safety inspections be done, describes how all their ID and personal documents are confiscated, locks put on fire doors so they can't escape, lack of health care and on and on. … [Read more...]

The 2009/2010 FBI Scientology Investigation: New Details

June 7, 2022 By Mike Rinder 21 Comments

More documents from the 2010 FBI investigation have become available through an FOIA request made many years ago.  While there is a great deal of redacted information and many documents withheld in their entirety, there is a lot of information contained in this disclosure that I had not been previously aware of. The full documents can be found here. There were a lot of documents released by the FBI back in 2017 which Tony O covered on his blog. Those docs (many of them witness interviews) are included in this new release -- though the redactions are very different. This is common with … [Read more...]

Scientology Hypocrisy: Slave Labor and Human Trafficking

April 6, 2022 By Mike Rinder 31 Comments

Hypocrisy in scientology runs very deep. It is almost axiomatic that if scientology claims something virtuous about itself, the opposite is true. They are masters at the art of pointing the finger at others to avert scrutiny of themselves. Just a short list: They proclaim they are champions of free speech, while seeking by any means necessary to silence anyone who says things they don't like. They claim to be against hatred and bigotry while putting out a continuous stream of hate-filled utterances and offering a safe harbor and support for the likes of Tony … [Read more...]

Scientology Tells Another Big Lie or Two

May 20, 2021 By Mike Rinder 82 Comments

The prosecution of Danny Masterson is becoming a predictable nightmare for David Miscavige and scientology. Forced into making a public statement after damaging testimony in the Preliminary Hearing, scientology resorted to its time-honored tradition and lied. Not just a little lie. A big, bold, easily disproven denial. They rely on the fact that most are uninformed about their actual practices, and that the vast majority of people think when someone makes such an emphatic statement, they could not possibly be lying. Sociopaths use the good nature of the vast majority of people who … [Read more...]

The Crime of the Century

May 15, 2021 By Mike Rinder 13 Comments

Alex Gibney has done it again. This is a disturbing, powerful documentary that everyone in the country should watch. It details how the opioid epidemic was manufactured out of the greed of the pharmaceutical industry (all the way down to CVS). It is truly a horrifying expose.   But for scientology-watchers there is a special reason for giving this a look. It shows how those with money to burn are able to buy influence over law enforcement and legislators. It is grotesque, and it is exactly what scientology has done to head off investigations in the … [Read more...]

Episode 17: Former Sea Org Executive Claire Headley

November 16, 2020 By Mike Rinder 95 Comments

Leah and I were extremely happy to welcome our old friend Claire Headley to the Fair Game podcast. Claire of course appeared in 2 episodes of The Aftermath -- and she was recently featured on the Netflix home page: I have known Claire and her husband Marc since I first went to the Gold Base -- way back in the 80's. Claire worked closely with Miscavige as an executive in Religious Technology Center. She was the Deputy Inspector General Internal. Claire helped me many times, she is one of the few people I know -- especially at the international level, and even more specifically in … [Read more...]

Sanity or Anarchy?

July 25, 2020 By Mike Rinder 40 Comments

Anyone who almost sheds a tear when studying Introduction to Scientology Ethics is either completely delusional or more likely has been abused with the application of this "tech" and the memories are so raw they bring tears. Let's take a look at some of the "incredibly sane" stuff in this book? For example, here are some of the specific "Crimes" and "High Crimes" that are listed. These are things for which you can be declared Suppressive: These are what passes for the most sane ethics and justice system ever invented. Don’t testify or use the court system or cooperate with … [Read more...]

Justice systems are "a cancer," and police and courts are composed of the "vicious and corrupt" according to #scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. Bear this in mind as the retrial of #DJDonkeyPunch Danny Masterson unfolds...

How Many Taxpayer-subsidized Mansions, Homes and Offices Does a Dead Man Need? It turns out to be a LOT when it comes to #scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. Once again, where is the #IRS? How is this a valid exempt purpose? https://youtu.be/JfmJHiGfevA via @YouTube
