The LAPD has a long history of "partnering" with scientology. Remember the "kiosk" in the LAPD Hollywood Division promoting scientology front groups. And the glad-handing at Celebrity Center as LAPD accepted checks from scientology. It's a great insurance policy for scientology and has served them well over the years. I tweeted about this on Saturday, addressed to the Commander of the N. Hollywood Division of the LAPD for sucking up to scientology. He is not the first. The convicted criminal former LA County Sheriff Lee Baca was a big scientology supporter -- appearing at numerous scientology events and even riding on the scientology float in the Hollywood Christmas parade. Miscavige shows up to yank his ribbon, they import people from out of town to make a "crowd" -- always inflated by a factor of at least 5 -- they take photos and video and then the circus leaves and things settle back into the normal void on nothingness it always was.
