The big push is on for an "Ideal California" -- as if this is going to change anything... The fundraising promotional pieces are coming hard and fast. Below are just a few from the last week. What is so incredible is that these people think that the last ideal org in California is going to make any difference to anything or anyone. Think about it. The third "ideal org" ever is in San Francisco. There are "ideal" orgs in Sacramento and 3 others in the Bay Area (Stevens Creek, Los Gatos and "Silicon Valley" -- remember when they were going to take over the world because they were … [Read more...]
STAAD League Stooges
This person has shown up on my Facebook page posting links to "articles" from the STAAD League. Pretty much the usual junk mail that I rarely even see, but I happened to notice this one. In their crazy efforts to convince people that scientology is "multidenominational" and "welcomes everyone" they have launched into outer space. Ask a real muslim if Nation of Islam is true to the teachings of Muhammad and represents their views.... Because they have Islam in their name does not make them real Muslims. I guess Christiana Michael doesn't know about the contents of the R6 bank? Or … [Read more...]
Regraded Being
Thursday Funnies
It's an "ideal island"... Like they now have an "ideal Florida" with 3, yes, 3 ideal orgs in a state with more than 20 million residents. Just think, they will have ONE org for an island with a population of 3.6 million. Actually, that should really be ideal -- 99.9% of the population will never come in contact with scientology. The other 360 people will be the unlucky ones. But in fact there are dozens of even more ideal islands (nations) in the Caribbean that are entirely scientology free zones (except when the Freewinds is in port). Odd how the “OT sh … [Read more...]
Reality in Scientology
It is a very warped world inside the scientology bubble. Occasionally we get a glimpse that is not just the "We ARE Clearing ____city, country, the planet" or "we are expanding faster than ever in history" or the wildly overused "monumental, epic, highest ever, greatest in history, golden age" etc etc Here we have some reality. The Senior C/S Kansas City is trying to get some more tech staff to join his 12 auditors (a number he seems strangely quite proud of...) He tries to sell the upsides of Kansas City -- move here and join staff because we have trees, hills, fountains and music -- … [Read more...]
Who is making IAS Bank?
As a follow up to yesterday's post, this is the latest list of moneymakers for the IAS. I don't know David Mauerer or how he came to be the top of the pile this week, but many of these other names are VERY familiar from Thursday Funnies. In fact, the top dozen should be pretty recognizable to readers here. These are all people sent out to do money-making events that are presented as "briefings" and "news updates" about the wonders of what scientology is doing to save mankind, Clear the Planet or obliterate the psychs. But those descriptions are merely ruses to get people to show up so … [Read more...]
The IAS Humanitarian Relief
The latest great humanitarian accomplishment by the IAS: We buy internet ads for scientology.org... This is how they justify sucking tens or hundreds of millions of dollars out of people to "support their 4D campaigns". You know, the "campaigns" they promote save people from druhgs, illiteracy, crime, immorality and the supreme evil of psychiatry. You know, the ones that are ALWAYS ALSO begging for money. The same ones that only seem to do anything when a Gold/SMP camera crew is around to record the activity... And they don't even buy internet ads to promote THEIR … [Read more...]
Cruising The Caribbean?
Usually they do not promote their travel plans. But here we have the next few months -- offered up in the hope as a sales pitch like this is Royal Caribbean or Carnival. But all is not quite like the real cruise lines offer when they say "explore the islands." It starts out sort of "normal" looking in the first 3 weeks of July -- probably after they get an infusion of funds from the Maiden Voyage in June, so they can afford fuel. And perhaps because Mr. Miscavige likes to extend his stay from the annual Maiden Voyage vacation into an extended scuba diving experience. But three weeks, … [Read more...]
Defensive Much?
Scientology's newest billboard in Clearwater is an obvious admission of something everyone knows -- but scientology almost never acknowledges -- their reputation is horrendous. This is clearly a reaction to The Aftermath tv series and the enormous volume of media coverage over the last few years. Unlike many years previously, today's media is not intimidated like it was and no longer just accepts the scientology PR line "we are the fastest growing religion on earth" blah blah. Scientology is hurting. They usually don't acknowledge it, pretending they are "clearing the planet" and … [Read more...]
Regraded Being
Thursday Funnies
Excitement? Not really. Pain. Poverty. Futility. For once I agree Go to the beach. The cliffs. Take a bike ride. Those, and the people and music and beer are all great reasons to visit Ireland. Stay the hell away from the "ideal" org... They don't even mention the org so they know what is real. It will blow you out of your seats You can be more causative, powerful and expand as a being. Just by attending this event and giving us your money.... Send those kids for a shot of measles Tip of the spear What happened to … [Read more...]
Scientology’s Religious Angle: A Twisted History
Here we have a couple of recent promotional pieces pushing the "religious angle" of scientology. Though I must say, this one above looks more like a screen shot from a Ricky Gervais mockumentary. But even at Celebrity Centre, they are promoting "Reverend" Nancy Delaney. Cross in the background, but thankfully no phony dog-collar. But let's take a brief look at the history of "religion" vis a vis Dianetics and Scientology. This is by no means a full recounting of the story, merely a glimpse that provides an idea of the tortured path it has followed. In 1950, Hubbard was … [Read more...]
Scientology and Children: The PR Spin
After the last post Child Sexual Abuse in Scientology it is ironic that the next day I came across this piece of PR spin. This is the other side of the scientology equation. On one hand, they groom people to be victims of sex abuse and seek to cover it up when it happens. On the other, they seek to create a good image of themselves so stories of abuse are rejected on the basis of "It couldn't be true -- look how they LOVE children and support and protect them." It is an aircover operation done on the basis of what is good for scientology. And here is another one -- they are really … [Read more...]
Child Sexual Abuse in Scientology
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE RESPONDED TO THIS ARTICLE HERE, ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND IN PRIVATE MESSAGES AND EMAIL. BUT TELLING ME IS NOT WHAT IS IMPORTANT. REPORTING IT TO THE AUTHORITIES IS. LEAH AND I CANNOT REPORT TO LAW ENFORCEMENT THAT YOU TOLD US SOMETHING. IT DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY. IF YOU EXPERIENCED OR WITNESSED SOMETHING YOU BELIEVE TO BE A CRIME, YOU MUST REPORT IT. EVEN IF THAT AGENCY DOES NOTHING, THERE WILL BE AN OFFICIAL REPORT ON FILE. IF YOU THINK THE CRIME IS "TOO OLD" REPORT IT ANYWAY. LET THE LAW ENFORCEMENT/PROSECUTORS MAKE THAT DETERMINATION. UNLESS YOU ARE A LAWYER, YOU … [Read more...]
Thursday Funnies on Saturday
My apologies -- had a very busy week and was flying all day on Thursday to get home. I just couldn't manage these in time. Remember -- this was the biggest event ever! Seems they rounded up 15 or so people and got a few dressed in Star Wars costumes to fantasize about saving the universe with light sabers. Then they asked them to give real money to save the universe. Fiction writing magic And of course, fiction writing has NOTHING to do with scientology... At least that’s what they tell the contestants. The best they've got Not much happening i … [Read more...]
