I am often asked this question, and my answer is usually that while there is no hard and fast rule, scientologists tend to lean Republican because of Hubbard's words: He opposed "big government" (pretty much ALL government -- it's "group bank") He opposed welfare -- that is "rewarding downstats." He opposed taxes. He believed homosexuality is an "aberration" He opposed government funded medical programs because "they support psychiatry." These positions pretty much ensure any good scientologist is a Republican voter. We saw in 2016 that the only precinct in LA that voted for Trump for … [Read more...]
Clearwater Development and Scientology
Happily, the referendum passed to allow the City of Clearwater to sell property to developers. Tracey McManus reported on the outcome. The development aims to bring up to 600 apartments, a 158-room hotel and a half dozen restaurants and retail spots along the city’s bluff. Right in front of the Ft Harrison and between it and the Sandcastle. Miscavige and scientology are no doubt very unhappy with this turn of events. I suspect when the information becomes available we will learn that the majority of "No" votes came from scientologist heavy precincts. The measure passed by a 2 to 1 m … [Read more...]

The Beings of New Mexico Need This Building
Apparently, the beings of New Mexico need this particular building badly. So, you need to contribute to the motion and make a donation... This is the website link he mentions: This is what the building actually looks like -- perched out on the edge of the desert, far away from anything and everybody. I wonder if it has ever occurred to Fred Lemons or any of these other people that the beings of New Mexico don't need a building. If you believe what Ron says, they need the TECH. And that is available right now. To save lives. Improve eyesight. Cure cancer. Solve … [Read more...]
Ideal Org Revolving Staff
The problem with ideal orgs is not just finding the ridiculous amounts of money required to buy and outfit these empty palaces. It is also trying to find enough people to staff the organizations that are supposed to be within them. We have seen Sea Org members sent en masse to man some of these orgs. Columbus was pretty much manned entirely by SO members. Now Chicago is being manned by the other understaffed orgs finding and "donating" their "experienced" (meaning old) staff to the effort to try to man the org. But the grand promises of "a living wage" turn out to be lies. Many of the … [Read more...]
“Safepointing” Clearwater (The First Scientology City)
Hubbard instructed scientologists to ally themselves with real organizations and religions in order to establish a "safe environment." This is something scientology treats seriously, especially in Clearwater, home of the "spiritual headquarters" of scientology. Lisa Mansell and Pat Harney work on trying to accomplish this almost full time. And they have local scientologists like Joanie Sigal who are also heavily involved in these efforts, along with other lesser lights like Daniela Nessen and Pam Ryan Anderson. This is a page from the latest issue of Tampa Bay magazine covering a recent … [Read more...]
Vegas Strong?
According to the Las Vegas "ideal" org they are "pouring on the coals" in a massive dissemination campaign to get SOURCE distributed to create "PR Area Control." What is so amazing is that the booklets they handing out are NOT "Source." Hubbard specifically stated his name was NOT to appear on WTH booklets. Nobody who reads it knows who wrote it. The Drug booklets are absolutely NOT written by Hubbard. They could hand out Source writings from Dianetics -- his thoughts on alcohol, marijuana, opium, phenobarbital and ammonium chloride. But that would be contradictory … [Read more...]

Making Planetary Clearing an Unreality
Here's a recent post on Facebook. You know scientology constantly goes on about how they "are Clearing the Planet." The reality of course is something entirely different. Here is a new Clear. His Clear number is 75,906. This is the GRAND TOTAL of all Clears made since 1950 -- or at least since 1966 when they handed out the first Clear bracelet to John McMaster (subsequently declared a Suppressive Person -- far from the magical powers of a "Clear'). 75,000 Clears in 50 or so years is not going to Clear Andorra (more than half of these "Clears" are no longer "Clear" … [Read more...]
More Panic in the Bubble
The best indicator of panic in the bubble is that Miscavige orders the "Turning Point" video be reshown. In his mind, it is the "proof" that he is leading scientology to the promised land. It is the proof that he accomplished something L. Ron Hubbard couldn't do. It's the proof that despite all the bad news about scientology in the world, Miscavige knows what he is doing and everything is going to turn out OK. In reality, it is the proof that he is seriously worried that too many rats are jumping off the sinking ship. The ad time they are buying isn't doing it. The denials in the press … [Read more...]
Scientology Refunds and Repayments: We Don’t Do That Any More
Recently, a letter from the "Claims Verification Board" came to my attention. In it they state: "It has always been church policy that anyone requesting a refund/repayment must do so within 3 months" -- so of course, they denied the request for return of funds (as they ALWAYS do). This is NOT in fact even what "church policy" says. Let's go through what L. Ron Hubbard said "church policy" is with respect to giving dissatisfied customers their money back (remember, the entire Victorian Inquiry came about because Hubbard refused to return a small amount of money to one … [Read more...]
Captain Miscavige Blast from the Past
Not had a lot of time to do anything with the blog in the last few days, so this one is a bit of nostalgia for the scientology history buffs. Someone forwarded me a copy of this issue, written in 2001 by Captain David Miscavige. Oh, what drama. The hype in this issue is something to behold. "literally about the destruction of the Church as a whole," "horrifying suppression" "machine gun-toting police" "imprisonment of many Scientologists in dungeons," For the record, Spanish police raided an IAS event in 1988 where Heber Jentzsch was speaking (back then, big names in scientology … [Read more...]
